heres the link to a 86-89 celica turbo 3S-GTE 205hp
http://www.japanracingengines.com/engineview.asp?id=108 nice cheap price! and the 94-99 turbos have 255 hp so what are the main differences b/t the 2 besides the upgraded turbo and exhaust manifold to fit the turbo?? does the turbo n headers create the extra 50hp difference?? because if so, it b cheaper to buy this engine |

The first engine is from a st165. Difference, about ten years of technology.
The ST165 is a very old motor. I would pick up the 205. --------------------  I will return one day. |

Main difference are the ST205 has better turbo, better intercooler, run higher boost, different intake manifold (single runner), and different intake air measuring method (Speed density MAP vs AFM).

1 bit to note that parts for the ST205 are harder to come by...(the ones that arn't the same between the St185 and ST205)
but st205 anyday is my vote |

Hey doesn't the ST205 turbo manifold come with some kind of anti-lag system?

Even so, it is neither connected nor functional. BTW, if I had a plan to upgrade turbo, IC and aiming for "high" HP, I'd choose 2nd gen over 3rd gen any day. -------------------- _Gary
