hey, I'm going to be swapping out my front speakers for some 6.5"'s, powered by a small amp I'll be putting under one fo the front seats (probably passenger), then I will be running 1 10"sub in a box off of a seperate amp I'll have in the trunk. Now i have neevr worked on the audio setup in my celica or any other celica, So im wondering how much wire im going to need, I'm guessing one of these will do:

If you have two amps, it will be easier to get two wiring kits. With that kit you most likely arent going to have enough power/ground cable depending on the route you take, and you only get one set of RCA's when you need two.
For a cleaner install, I would get a larger guage power cable run into the car off the battery, use a distribution block, then run the power cables to the amps. Also, unless it is a fairly small amp (dimension wise) that you are putting under the front seats, you'll probably want it under the driver's seat; it has much more room. If you take out both seats you'll see what I mean. Good luck -------------------- |

Hey Shawn. My name is Chris and I am a Circuit City Roadshop Installation Specialist. If I were you and wanting to do an amp install like what you're wanting Circuit City has a wiring kit that comes with everything and I mean EVERYTHING that you would need for a multiple amp install. I have the kit in my 94 Celica ST.
Here's the web address for the description of the kit: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Tsunami-Mul...roductDetail.do This kit is perfect for what you need. Its also cheaper to get all of this in the kit than it is seperately. I'm glad I was able to help an up and coming installer. If you have any questions just send me a PM and i will gladly answer any questions i can that you might have. This post has been edited by lilmancelica94: Nov 28, 2005 - 4:25 AM |

I highly recomend that you take mikew04's advice about having one larger wire from the battery, splitting off at a distribution block. I remember walmarts sells a kit (made by scoch) w/ 4g wire splitting into two 8g from a distribution block. The kit was decent quality and pretty much had everything you needed for two amps. It was 39.99 (cnd)

good advice, I'm going do the fatty off the battery and run the dist. block like you suggested, And I've got the 2 RCA cables, So I'm pretty much doing what mikew suggested (thanks by the way). Anyone have some suggestions for cleaner wire run to the trunk, other than under the carpet? i dont want any carpet lumps.

Run the power wire from the engine bay into the dash, behind either kickpanel, under the door sill... you can follow the wires under the seat for that amp. The other cable can be continued behind the panel where the rear speakers are located and then run to the trunk.
RCA's can be run on the other side. I have my RCA's running behind the dash, under the center console (following the shift linkages and airbag wiring) then under the seats where my amps are located. If you decide to run RCA's under the door sills, make sure you run it on the side you are mounting the amp under the seat for ease of installation. -------------------- |
