So, im looking into gettin a set of rims. I found a few sets i like, and i wanna get somethin wider than a 7", at least for the back to fill in the big gap under the wheel well. Any ways, my question is, if i go with a set of 17x8 in the rear and 17x7 in the front, would it make my car handel weird/would it effect the ride because of the diff size rim??

I'm not sure if it would make your car handle or ride weird.
I cant seem to remember that has done this before to a fwd. People normally have bigger wheels at the back if it was rwd. I reckon you should go with 17x8 all round. That way they will fill the gap under the wheel well. -------------------- ![]() 98 ST204 ZR - Black Beauty - Roaming the streets of Sydney 73 TA22 LT - Tiffany Blue - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 75 TA22 LT - Snow White - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 77 RA28 LT - Flubber Green - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 94 MX-5 NA8 Clubman - Red Racer - Looking for corners WIP Project: 69 RT40 Corona, 2nd WIP Project: 66 RT40 1600s Corona 86 Corona RT142 - Daily Driver 6GC 4 Life Baby!!! |

I wouldn't have different wheel widths. If you're really concerned about filling up the wheel wells, get wheels with a suitable offset.

I'd say just go 17' X 8 all the way around.

Don't mr2s come with different size wheels in the back and front? Why? What's the advantage?

I dont think MR2s have different size wheels. But I could be wrong. MR2 are rear wheel drive so they can have bigger wheels at the back to get better traction. -------------------- ![]() 98 ST204 ZR - Black Beauty - Roaming the streets of Sydney 73 TA22 LT - Tiffany Blue - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 75 TA22 LT - Snow White - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 77 RA28 LT - Flubber Green - Mint Classic Weekend Cruiser 94 MX-5 NA8 Clubman - Red Racer - Looking for corners WIP Project: 69 RT40 Corona, 2nd WIP Project: 66 RT40 1600s Corona 86 Corona RT142 - Daily Driver 6GC 4 Life Baby!!! |

If you had bigger wheels in back you wouldn't be able to rotate your tires like you can with same size all around.
