The timing issue probably contributed to the head gasket blowing. See if you can get the people who did the timing belt to give you some money for the gasket/other probable damage to your engine; you'd have a really strong case.

^ I would definately be getting in touch with the people who rebuilt it. They didn't do their job, so you should be getting some money back.
