my car has been leakin oil out by my oil pressure switch so I went to replace the switch. I figured it had never been done and it would be a good idea if it was leaking. so i took it out and put in a new one. I literally watched the crack spread on my block. It wasnt the switch that was leaking it was my block. There was a small crack on the underside near the switch and by putting in a new switch, it spread the crack and started a new one. so now my car is undriveable and I am being force to cruise in my mothers minivan. I was thinking of taking apart my engine, selling the good parts and getting a supra engine put in. what do you guys think?HELP PLEASE!!
thanks nate -------------------- The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed? |

If you want to swap and want more power go with the 3sgte swap. There is a ton of info of that swap around here, The beams is a 3sge which you could aslo do, but as far as I know the wiring is a big issue, also a lot more people have done the 3sgte swap so they are more likely to know the answers to some of your questions. -------------------- Buy my Celica $2,500 - http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0

do you have a pic or something... i really cant imagine how the head could crack like that.
take it to a local mechic, there has to be an easy fix for it. its just the head, i bet they could weld the crack. even jb weld might work on something like that. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

i dont have the car with me right now, its at the shop. so i cannot take pics right now. when she gets home i can get em tho. im bringing her home tomorrow, the work starts monday. I asked a family friend who is a mechanic and he said that he couldnt weld it. not sure why but he told me tho onlt thing i could do was swap it out. its ok tho. the only way it would have cracked like it did was if there was already a small crack started...hence the small oil leak. so i dont mind replacing it if it was the piece that was screwed up in the first place. -------------------- The question is not how far. The part doesnt come in til mon, so i have a lil time. anyone have anything else i should do while im inside of her? -------------------- The question is not how far. port/polish and gasket replacement isint going to help you with anything tho. if the head is really that badly damaged, then you need to source a brand new head, or just find another motor to swap in .
