So for the last 4 or 5 months, ive noticed a bit of a gas smell comin from my drivers side of the car. I put it up in the air back when i was in highschool and noticed one of the clamps and hoses comin off the filler neck was fraied and the clamp was rotting. So i kinda put it off and figure "well what harm can it do". So yesterday, i was runnin low on gas, so i went to the local shell station and filled her up. Went out with the gf later that day and when i came home, my mom comes in and says "Bryan, ive put up with this crap for too long, go get that hose or w/e u say it is fixed tomorrow". So i called up the shop at my old work and talked to one of the guys i used 2 work with and asked him if i should take the car in tomorrow, so he said sure. So i went out again for the night, came home, went to sleep. So my mom comes into my room at like 8:30 this mornin and tells me theres a hudge puddel of gas on the driveway under my car. So i dont belive her cuz she always says stuff to get me goin. Any ways, sure enough theres a big puddel of gas sittin under my tank. So i take the car in and it turns out that a chunk of my filler neck is fully rotted out and the gas was spillin out like mad. So the cars in the shop untill their tuesday or wensday(gotta get parts fed-exed from cali). So for thouse of you who have that smell of gas when ur cars off comin from either side of ur tank, go get ur tank checked. Save ur self the hassel.

jeez that sucks guy, I would of sold you all you needed for cheap. Hoe things work out for you

so i found out that my entire filler neck is rotted out. So now im payin $320 to get my tank dropped, cleaned(sandblasted and rust proofed*its pretty rusty but its all surface*) and get a new filler neck put in. So my cars in the shop untill wend or thursday. So im quite happy. Yet more $ gone into it.
