Ok, so im in the market for a new car. My budget has been greatly increased due to my promotion a month or so ago. So now im looking for a car thats $40,000 and under, so of course my first choice was a brand new Evolution IX, sounds good, looks nice, drives like a mad man. So I get on the Evo forums and do my research, and I hear that they have alot of problems with there transmission, gear box, ect. So then I look into the '06 WRX STi, it looks pretty decent has some potential, but the inside is just butt ugly and it also has a few problems such as engine syncros. And it also does not have a sunroof or leather :-( Then I poked around at the 350z touring edition. Leather, dvd navigation, but its a 2 seater, which isnt THAT bad but I was really pushing for a 4. Is there no car that is ungodly fast, under $40,000 and wont break down after only 15k miles? Im also leaning more towards the 350z than the other 2 since girls love a nice 2 seater with rims. It also passed my mind a few times to see if I cant get my hands on a skyline, but after all the numbers came out I was short quite a bit :-/

2dr or 4dr?
fwd, rwd, awd? These are important questions to your decision. Personnally, I would say Acura TL. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

well, my preference is awd, then rwd, and then fwd. Also I want 4 doors, but I also want a sporty car. which usaully have 2 doors. As far as the srt-4 goes, ya dodge really messed up, u always hear the BOV and turn around to look at what it was, and then your like "oh... a neon"

Car and Driver did a 14.something quarter mile in that car, just a few tenths off the 350Z time. Get it fully loaded for pretty darn cheap, and money left over to modify it. They have a new SE-R version too. The interior is also much nicer now than when the new model first came out. If you want something more upscale, get an Infiniti G35 which now has real-time AWD but is usually RWD. That'll be in the low 30K's. My personal favorite is the Mazda6 with the hatchback, not the wagon. I think that's a sweet looking 4-door car. |

QUOTE(Sh0gunkid8721 @ Nov 21, 2005 - 5:02 PM) Supra TT w/ low mileage looked into it waaaay long ago, and for a car that old, and needed to be a daily driver its way out of ym price range. QUOTE(WannabeGT4 @ Nov 21, 2005 - 5:12 PM) Off the top of my head, how about a G35 or RX8? Im still not sure about the G35's, I think there a little too 'classy' (for lack of better words) for me. The RX8's arent bad, but I dont think they have enough potential. -------------------- To live, is to suffer

No such thing as too classy.
The renesis rotary is still relatively new compared to the 13b and 20b. It'll catch up though. Well I know you said you were wanting a 4 door but have you thought about an S2000? -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

I'll chalk up another vote of G35. Freaking sweet cars. But I can't believe a BMW has not been mentioned. I'm tworn between the two. If I were to get a new car now, it would be one of these. A couple year old Porshe 911 turbo wouldn't be bad, kinda ugly though. BMW still my first choice.

Easy answer.
a 2000-2002 Audi S4. Four Doors, AWD, and a twin turbo V6. Cranks out 250bhp. You can find one for 20-30k. The 2004s and up have V8's, which are more potent out of the box, but aren't very upgradable. The twin turbo V6 can easily handle 500bhp on the stock block with upgraded fuel delivery and better turbos. Drawbacks--insurance, upgrades are expensive, and expensive to fix if it breaks. Or get an AMC Eagle. |

I'm sure 40k would go a great distance on a GT4 and while many of us would like to see the GT4 in good hands I think I'm going to side with him on this, it's just totally not practical. All in all I would reommend the G35, it's like the 350z but then again it's not. And then like was already said is the Altima, those are nice cars for the money. I think if I were to buy a new car it would be between a 350z, Altima, or M3. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT
