My mom has been ill for nearly 20 years with Multiple Sclerosis. Its been really hard for me to deal with. I see her sick all the time and she puts up such a front that shes feeling ok. I know shes not though! :-(

Multiple Sclerosis
A chronic degenerative disease of the central nervous system in which gradual destruction of myelin occurs in patches throughout the brain or spinal cord (or both), interfering with the nerve pathways and causing muscular weakness, loss of coordination and speech and visual disturbances.

My mother and father have both shown signs of heart disease and my dad was showing signs of colon cancer.

Depressing topic. frown.gif My parents are both fine, but the moms of the two girls I'm really close friends with both have an illness. Melissa's mom has something where she can't eat very much sugar or should could die (not diabetes). Before Melissa was born her mom almost died from this. The doctors couldn't figure out what it is, and to this day they're still not sure what it is, but she gets migraines often and can't eat sweets. Taylor's mom has MS. Taylor gets really down when she has to see her mom in such pain, but her mom, like yours, is strong about it. I really respect anyone who has MS and any other mental or physical illness. I can't even imagine having to live with something like that myself...

the interesting thing about MS is that alot of the cases are in the Northwest area. My mom has it, our neighbor has it, and another lady down the street has it! 3 within a block radius? thats crazy huh?! My mom has seizures too and its so hard to watch..aww im going to go hug my mom

That's really weird. I didn't know it happened more in the Northwest. Around here the most common of the 'serious' diseases is cancer. Besides that, I think it's diabetes. But I wouldn't doubt that the whole US is the same way. My friends mom is the only person I know around here that has MS. Really upsetting. frown.gif

My mom is an all-around substance abuser. She has smoked since she was 13. She gets piss drunk every night, and she smokes a lot of pot.

My cousin was over from Illinois to get away from her old friends and go to school here, and my mom got drunk and hit her in the face. She then went back to Illinois. I told my mom she needs to go to some sort of inpatient facility, and she hasn't yet. She has chosen drugs and alcohol over her own family. I hate her.

both of my parents r fine, but my best friends mom has gone through 4 bouts of cancer...breast, colon, uterine and ovium. And the worst part is her husband left her durin her treatment the second time she got it.

and my gf's dad is manic depressive and semi sucicidal aswell as my gf gets numerous panic attacks that vary in range. She had one today and passed out because of it. Its the scariest thing on earth to be with her when shez havin one. The results of them can be minor(ie dizzy ness, upset stomach), to bad/extream. Today after she came too she was goin into convoltions and couldnt breath. She said if it went n e further/if some one wasnt there with her she probably woulda passed out quicker and could have ended up in a coma or worse. Its really scary when every time she has one, it could be ur last few mintues with her.

Lost my dad in 2001 to endocarditis/aneurysm. Probably not helping the mood of the topic.
