rwd in general can be scary...mostly fun tho. i was leaving work yesterday, i park in an undergrouNd structure so the ground is slick... i gave my car a little too much gas and the rear end started slipping....imagine that mistake in the rain....you have to respect these cars
and if you live in WA im sure the situations over there are worse This post has been edited by fastgt: Nov 22, 2005 - 3:41 PM -------------------- 2011 Spice Orange Mini Cooper

QUOTE(BlackCelicaGT94 @ Nov 22, 2005 - 12:58 PM) my dad would much rather work on an mr2 than my celica! That man is crazy. I don't even want to think about working in an MR2's engine bay. Especially without a lift to be able to drop the engine from the bottom. -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

ive actually been tossing around the idea of getting an MR2 as well, but i would get it as a second car, and probably a MK1.
i agree with coomer, that if you are trying to be out of debt and going to school, you should stay with what you have. No need to add extra expense with a new toy which needs more new toys, more time when time needs to be spent studying. -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

QUOTE(lagos @ Nov 22, 2005 - 1:38 PM) i got an idea. since your dad owns your celica, let him do what he wants with it. you have a job and are old enough to buy your own car. so if you really want an mr2, go out and finance one instead of expecting your parents to buy you new cars just because you got bored. im not trying to be rude, but it just sounds so selfish when you say you will be out of debt, but youll be putting your parents into more debt with school and cars that you want. yeah, I don't mean to be rude either but I definitely have to agree. I wish I could tell my parents I just want a new car because I'm bored with mine, but then again I own my car. It sucks just even keepin the Celi stock while in school, let alone trying to pay for upgrades etc. You're talking about saving money, getting out of debt etc why not keep saving money while you're in school so when you get out of school you can like buy a house or a really nice car or somethin. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

My family is a bit different than yours so you cant really make these judgements..sorry guys!
Even if I saved the money I couldnt go buy the car. My parents wouldnt let me. Since I live under their roof they would say no you cant have another car. so its kind of i have to make a decision and keep the celica or sell it. -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

i have both the celica and mr2 but the celica is handed down to my sister. All i can say is that it's 5x more fun to drive than the celica. It's a great car!

QUOTE(BlackCelicaGT94 @ Nov 22, 2005 - 12:59 PM) Im thinking of asking the parents to sell the Celica and get me a 94 MR2 black! I think I would have to wait for the Supra to get rewired so then my bro would have his car back and then I could pimp the Honda while we looked for an MR2 but damn they are so sexy when they are black and done up well! and obviously i have good taste cuz look at my celica - haha so kidding! but should i consider an MR2 or keep the celica? black or charcoal widebody mr2 so hot! I would get the old school ones. They are lighter than the new ones and you can fit a 3s in it with some mods. |

thats funny. I want a new vehicle so I can stop driving my car and do all the real show car stuff to it. You cant drive a real show car everyday. The paint will not hold up to rock chips....So here comes my new toy....a truck

I just recently sold my celica and bought an mr2 and im loving it. I drive with my t-tops off everyday.
I dont know why yall are bashing her because her dad pays for stuff. My dad paid for my car and other things. He would pay for my school but im on scholarship so its all paid for. Between school and playing college baseball and studying I have absolutely no time for a job. My dad however makes a crapload of money so I have no problem accepting money from him when he offers it. -------------------- |

i guess it's nice to have rich parents... anyway, if an MR2 is really what you want, then go for it. we all know that RWD is better than FWD (for performance purposes). plus the midship platformed car would handle better on dry pavement.
an MKII MR2 Turbo is a great choice, it's the most affordable mid-engined car that's both turbocharged and is a japanese import. MR2s are in a class of its own (concerning affordability and platform) that looks nice. go for it if you really want to get a fun car with great performance. BUT i wouldn't use it as a daily driven car. just my opinion.. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
