I've been doing some research and im still kinda clueless on how I would go about make a car legal and able to drive without being harassed by cops. As some of you know im in the market for a new car, I want something fast, sporty, and something not seen often. WRX STI, no, Evo IX, no.... Skyline GTR-33 ^_^ I've got the money for the car, now how much would it cost to have it legalized.

You're lookin at a good amount of money to legalize the car. I don't know all of the specifics on the process, but there's emissions standards you have to meet (probably making a custom exhaust that meets US spec) I'm sure there are hellacious import taxes and fees, inspections. Replace the glass and headlights to US spec, gauges into MPH, little things like that.

The physical conversion of the car isn't what will cost the most money, it's all of the import fees and taxes that will rack up the bill. How much do you have saved for the car, and how much does it cost?

well, on www.evolutionimports.com they have a few skylines for like ~$25,000, I can spend about $35,000. I figure $10,000 should do the trick, I just have no idea where to start researching on what needs to be changed.
