Ok so we got this crazy idea to put 5sfe 11 to 1 88mm pistons into a 3sge. Running 3sge rods to keep the stroke short and pretty much everything else 3sge or 3sfe since we have a spare 3sfe doing nothing. Any thoughts? Any idea how to figure out the compression ratio?

piston size?
piston pin size? rod size? rod pin size? pison hight? all the other determining factors? |

This sounds like a good Kwanza question. I would pm him

I can tell you 11:1 5SFE pistons aren't gonna make 11:1 with a GE head.

Oh I know that. As long as it is more then the stock 9.2:1 we are in business. Are there any clearances off the top of your head that might be an issue. I know this brings the motor to almost exactly a 2.1L. The whole deal here is more displacement without sacraficing the all important power at high rpm and make it fairly cheap.

well i dont think its fairly cheap when u consider the horsepower gain u get...i dont thnk it will be much of a gain..it just doesnt make much sense...if u wanna hybrid i would say go for 5s bottom block but keep 3s head that will bump u up to 2.2l some guy at mr2oc did it with a 3sgte even thought it was a gte he still got a pretty significant torque gain from the larger displacement

Well there is the problem. This is for the circle track car. We are above 6000 rpm the whole race, well above it most of the time. So to make a stroker is probably gonna hurt us. I just keep banging my head as to how to make top end power when everyone else is trying to make bottom end. Even 20 HP is somewhat worth it. If we get the engine anywhere around 200 HP we will be kicked out because we will run under a 16 sec lap and be faster then the next class up. Really walking a fine line here.

I've posted about it in the past. being a "GTE"... the motor makes power COMPLETELY and utterly different than being simply "GE". It seems at least agent know what rod/stroke ratio means to an n/a motor... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

Well sorry to dissapoint about the oversquare demon but it looks like we are going 3sge with 10:1 compression. Found a nice mr2 guy just waiting on pricing. Pretty much the oversquare was gonna be like $800 for pistons, $400 for the over boring and it was just climbing higher and higher.....now as for my street car..........well lets just wait and see if I can get moved to NC this summer were they are doing away with emissions inspections.
