Jeff (defgeph) and I have been discussing a national meet for a few weeks and have decided to take the initiative to set one up. There have been a lot of good points made about potential meeting places which we have considered at length. This is NOT a thread to debate the location of this meet. That said, everyone is welcome and this meet should not discourage others from setting up other meets in places like Kansas or Colorado.

The details:

Meet will be May 5, 6 & 7. It will coincide with the exact same meet for the MR2 guys. We are piggy backing off their meet for one reason - more cool cars and people to hang out with.

Event will start in Charlottesville, Virginia, 10am.
Continue along the Blueridge Mountains, from Virginia into West Virginia heading for the Dragon.
Saturday will include driving the Dragon.
Sunday will include some of the most awesome roads in West Virginia, with huge drop-off and fast blind curves!

Here is a map of the Dragon:

Hotel Information:

Hotel Details -

http://www.valleyviewlodge.com/

There are no Group Rates as that weekend is Old Timers Weekend.
The prices are still great!

Toll Free Reservations:
1-800-292-4844
Local Calls: 865-448-2237

May 5, 6, 7 2005 ( I booked May 5 and 6)
$69.95 2 people
$5 each additional
per room

Please tell them that it is for "Strong Stock" which is what the MR2 event organizer is calling the event.

The Hotel has 138 room, currently (Dec 9, 2005) there are 43 room available.
So please call and reserve your room now.
You will need a credit card and you MUST be over 18 years of age.

More will be posted soon... but please get your rooms sorted out.

Please post if you will attend. There may be other people like me that will not drive that far unless there is a good turnout. If thats the case, just say so in your post. I would like to see at least 50 cars there (mr2s and celicas) for me to make the trip. Honestly, I don't think thats going to be a problem.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I will most likely be going to this, though it will be a lot more fun (for me) if I find a MR2T before then wink.gif

Man, if it weren't for it beginning on a friday....I most likely will be all over this meet, if I do have classes next semester that day I'll probably just skip it. But I should know for sure in about a week or so.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

ok well i'll have to take a personal day fri and a personal day monday. Its starting in Charlottesville, Virginia,? so friday everyone will be meeting up there?? i'll have to think on this one. I really want to go but i'll let ya guys know there is a lot of time till this is going to happen

19 hours in one day is a heck of a drive. Maybe i'd drive a waze thursday night. so its not so far friday for me to drive. But then sunday afternoon i would probably drive half way back.
