I was looking at some cars, and i noticed alot of people dont have all those strips of rubber going down the side of your car and around the exterior of the wheels... just wondering if anyone does have it? or if its just mine or something... and how i should go about removing it.

you can check it out on one of my pics... i just now noticed it when i was washing the car... kinda stupid of me i know, but o well.

dude my gf had that on her celi and i just pulled it off, all it is, is adhesive tape u just gotta get some rubin alcohol or just use some elbow grease, if u hand wash ur car, use the bug and tar remover side that helps.

i had it on my car when i bought it from this old man. I have a pic but its kinda hard 2 c. It was just a thin(about 1.5 inches wide) strip of rubber going along the door to protect it from getting bumped/scratched.

nah...mine was dont by the pervious owner cuz he was a crappy driver. As for taking it off. Best thing to do is get a roll of duct tape, a spacle for puttin up dry wall..just a thin lilttle thing, and a can/bottel of bug & tar remover. Wrap the scraper with duct tape at the end so it wont dmg ur paint, the peal it off slowly. As for the rest of the adhesive, spray the bug and tar remover on it let it sit in and then use the scraper again and peal the adhesive off. Takes 20 min and leaves it nice n clean. Make sure u wash ur car after wards, dont wanna leave the bug and tar remover on for 2 long. Like dont leave it on for a day or 2, just wash it off when ur finished the job.

EDIT: Never seen that around the wheel well, is it screwed on? or just adheard on?

adheasive glue is whats holding it on. i have it around my doors also but the glue is starting to seperate. I could probably just peel them all off if i just pulled on it a little.

although i have never seen those complete doors strips down the sides. mine just lines my doors. sorta like a bump stop. the **** on the red car is more like what comes on jettas and BMWs. keeps your door from being dented completely so replacement costs are kept low.

yeah, while it's nice for preventing door dings, it looks kinda tacky IMO. I vote take them off!
