i dont see the point of having them unless you have a show car or a car that looks REALLY good. Its illegal to drive w/ the neon lights on in most places so whats the point? Thats just me.

now underglow if cordinated to the color of the car and the car is low enough to get a decent glow on the ground and you can not see any tubes then by all means cause if done right it adds a total level of attitude to the car...i run underglow and love them....in my first body kit i had it so my front end was back lit and it looked like my car was pissed off to no end..and i loved it

Yeah, your right, they do that. But fellow Japanese car owners will call you "rice" if you have neons. They are sort of a cross over point when you say, "Hey look at me, I want to be cool." They are fads. There has been many different fads in car manufacturing over the years. Bottem line, a timeless design is a smooth subtle look were nothing really jumps out at you, the car just looks good.
EDIT: Some will argue that neons are part of this smooth design. They are more than intitled to their opinions.

There is a turbo Eclipse running around my town here that has a cheap yellow paint job, big vinals on the hood and sides, big scoop on the hood, aluminum wing, stock wheels, bad sounding exhaust, and a fiberglass body kit that looks like he's hit the curb once a week with since he's gotten the car. Even though his car is regertably faster than mine, I feel it is justifide to call him a "ricer."

I voted yes, but i agree that there has to be alot of other things on the car for the lights to look okay, i mean, all they are meant for is to accent the vehicles better points. If you over do it with the lights, then it just looks stupid and you should kill yourself.

ok wait, im having trouble understanding this... if properly installed underbody neons with a nice glow is rice... then your "office lighting material" clear turns, "eTurbo", chrome intake, and yellow wire loom... what would we call that? We should make a poll about it. I'm j/k snapshot. don't take it to the heart. your car looks good and i learned a lot from your sh!t on the suspension forum. just felt like taking a shot at you... i had nitrous oxide with no other mods once. lol. purging... it looked real good tho so it wasnt rice.

yea i agree with you on that one In "MY" opinion i think its all about how your car is presented. i think we all know when neons have been setup right or not. I dont think its fair to call all neons rice and say that anyone who has em is a nobody just trying to be cool, but if ya really think about it why do we shell out so much money into bodykits and rims etc.

i voted i like it. it does have to be done right, i've seen it look horrible way more times than good but it can top off a vehicle. and if neons are rice how come just about every trophy winner at HIN has them.

man those neons were bright if you get caught with them by the police over here in nz it's a $400 fine and they do look like rice no offence but they look to much like those cars off NFS Underground 2 what next roof scoops

if u have a non functional bodykit...ur rice
if u painted ur dash inserts...ur rice
if u have a non-functional wing...ur rice (wings such as TRD wing, supra style, etc.)

if u fit any of these categories...then IMO ur rice. so what would be stopping u from putting on neons???

I remember when b4 fast and furious they where cool and cost me $220 now cos of the films everyone has them and now you can pick up a led kit which changes colour for a snip. I think i went off them when they took all the juice out of my batt.
