Have fun. I've skated for 5 1/2 years and am sponsored by a skate company in Omaha NE. And i've snowboarded for 2 1/2 years if you can skate you can pretty much snowboard. But its very fun. You'll have a blast. Specially when you get better you'll be going off jumps that are 45 feet tall. smile.gif thats the best doing 360's and flips and s***. But you'll get to that point a while from now. hope you like it and have fun tho smile.gif

lmao can you do that? she'll get there after a looong while. hell it took me forever just to land a 360 for the first time, looks sooo much easier than it is. 45 feet, thats a good way to kill yourself if your not an expert. by the way i think skateboarding and snowboarding are worlds apart, i mean i can snowboard pretty good now after 4 years, but i cant skateboard for my life tongue.gif

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Well if you skateboard its easier to snowboard if you snowboard its still gonna be hard to skateboard. its mostly about balance. Cause you have to have balance for both sports. And yes you can do it after a while and you get tought by the right person to get onto that big of a jump. But its all good.

I consider myself a pretty good skateboarder, and I figured that would really help me out when I learned how to snowboard.. but its completely different. In skateboarding you lean to move, but in snowboarding its more like your back foot is steering, so in all actuality snowboarding is most like surfing.

lmao, good luck, i been snowboarding for 8 years, so much fun, always the best teaching girls to haha u will fall a lot and u sometimes ull end up sliding down the mountain backwards, start at the top no begginner shyt cause the t bar lifts are almost impossible for the first 2 years hahaha, stay away from the pipe and dont wander to far into the glades, first times probly gonna hurt the day after but ull have a hell of a lot of fun,

im going snowboarding next weeekend, ANY EC6GCers wanna go???

either mt. snow, or okemo, or gore, maybe bellaire *new park*

also, skateboarding is the same as snowboarding, steer on back foot, its opposite of surfing haha

You don't steer with the back foot in skateboarding. Its all leaning and moving the ankles. Now if you're talking about kick-turning then that might be true, but take something like longboarding for example, since that is more like carving on a snowboard. It isn't the same, however it is still fun.

haha ok so we got there and hes like "lets go on the chairlift" and i was like uhh ok then of course i fall getting off..totally planted my face! then it took me till about half way thru the run to figure out how to get up and board about 30 ft till i fell. so i didnt wanna hold Jason back so I told him id go find out about lessons. Well turned out lessons werent available for 2 more hours so i sat in the lodge checking out the scenery (aka boys) then went to the car with jason for a bit to listen to some Fort Minor but we were having so much fun talking I wasnt going to take my lesson but i was like ahh i better go to it..so i go then they tell me my board wasnt waxed and id need to go get it waxed so i was like ahh screw this ill try again another time. So then i went and waited an hour for Jason then we left! Id like to go back up but i think next time ill go first thing in the morning nad take a private lesson till 12 then meet up with friend(s) and board with them in the afternoon! Im hoping to get my own board by mid january though! i think ill be more excited if i have my own board!

Did you go to Crystal or Snoqualmie? I have been looking for people to go boarding with up at Crystal, maybe us Washington gangstas should do a ski/snowboard meet.

ahh lessons, i remember those days, ur better off teaching urself, heres the run down of lessons..

1. show how to get off the chairlift *easy*
2. u ride down the mountain side to side *stopping on each side* to practice balancing
3. after learning to go side to side its time to learn how to stop, travel down about 20 ft. then practice stopping (toe side and heel side)
4. when thats done u should practice side to side to practice turning
5. when u can turn but its not soon (as in takes a while) practice untill you can carve (turning short distances)

thats pretty much it, its all about balance and practice, now go hit the park
