BLack face with red glow is best done with the stock gauges and just swapping the LED's. I got mine off ebay, they are the procarparts ones im fairly sure. Just overlays...pretty much plug and play.

I just put the reverse indigolo guages in last weekend. They have the silver background. I really like the results, much easier to read. I do have afew small issues though. I neglected to leave the stock pieces in for the warning lights so now they are white and really bright. I'm also getting some light leaking out around the outside of the guages. It's a very small amount but still noticable. I think I just need to seat the bezels better or stick them down somehow.
I used a little glue to hold them onto the original guages and took my time to line everything up just right. I changed the color of my turnsignal indicators while I was in there and painted my needles red with some Tamiya model paint (clear red, X-27). I wanted my odometer to stay white but have red needles. I put two coats of the red on and it turned out a little dark. I think when I take it apart to put the warning covers back in I'll clean it off and airbrush on a lighter coat. |

Use double sided tape, not glue. Heh. That's if you do this. Because if you take them off then you won't have to remove residue from glue.
BIG TIP!: DO NOT TAKE OFF YOUR NEEDLES Take off the BLACK covers surrounding them. But if you take the needes off entirely, you may screw up the accuracy of your gauges. This isn't HARD to fix but it can be time consuming and ANNOYING. Be careful. -------------------- |

I wanna make mine red too. I found some colored plastic folders at Office Max. I got two shades of blue so I could vary the tint. I have three layers of light blue in right now and it's a little too light to match the indiglo blue. Next time I have the gauges out I'll put in a layer of the darker blue. |

see i have some folder dividers left over from my clock and what not...and i was wondering if i could just cut out the shape with that, and maybe put in two layers of the plastic (its pretty thick).

I would think that would work. The green tabs are like 1/8" thick so you might have to put a thinker piece of clear plastic in there. |

i just used a rubbing alcohol bottle, cut the peices out and put a red adhesive on them then put them in. and my blinkers are perfectly red my gauges are also custom made, i took the adhesive and made my numbers and lines red, and made the needles white. Havn't got the LED's yet but heres what mine look like

Just use a dinky screw driver. Doesn't matter how thick or thin the clear peice is. like i said i used a plastic bottle that was clear and put red adhesive on it. and it works perfectly.
