I just got my car back from the shop and she is looking superb biggrin.gif. I just hooked up my subwoofers to the why they were when I disconnected them. I accidently set off a spark when I was connecting the power wire. I think it sparked because I touch the power to the ground and it set off a spark. With this said would my subs not work if the amp is fried?

Sounds like you fried the amp but I didn't follow you 100%. Do you have an in-line fuse? are there fuses on the amp? Check those you might just get lucky. That's what they are for after all.

The fuses are in the amps but i check those and they are not blown. so my amp is most likely fried? now i have a huge box taking up 85% of my trunk with no real purpose beside taking up space laugh.gif

well if the fuses haven't blown then maybe the spark wasn't enough to even break the fuse... your amp should be working, in theory of course

hmmm i check the fuses on the amp but didn't check the fuse on the power line yet. thats probably the problem cuz i sparked my fog light wires like that b4 and the fuse blew lol. I'm sure if there is a light on the amp that tells if its on. I'll check it out tomorrow

thanks for the your help

yea man... the fuse on the power line will be the first to blow... replace that and your good... this happened to me a couple times when i was stupid taking subs out awhile back... If this isnt it, take it to an audio shop and they will prob check it out for free and only charge u a small service charge to fix it, depending on the problem and if the amp is still good (which it should be)

That's what I meant by in-line fuse. Usually it will be on the amp's power wire just after the battery under the hood. That is what was supposed to blow in the sit you had. I have seen an amp blow and not the fuse before though so cross your fingers. Then your only problem will be getting a replacement fuse as they are usually huge versions of the blade type fuse our car uses and you will have to go to an audio shop to get one [buy an extra just in case wink.gif ]
I hope thats all it is.
Edit - Oh yeah. Make sure to replace it with the same amperage.

you should turn off any live source before working on electrical. I hope you find a blown fuse.
