Hey, so i found out 2day my moms gettin me a PSP 4 x-mas, and im just curious, i know there is wifi capabilty on the PSP but on the back of most of the games ive seen it says " Wi-Fi compatible (ad hoc)". Im just curious, for the wifi, do u just have to be in a wirelessnet work area? or is their an add on?? Also, i think it was Chan55 that had a pic of him accessing the net/websites from his psp. Any one know how to do this?

the web browser is "ok". its really tedious entering in text cuz u have to do it phone style. so a hello would be 4433555555666. but u have to roll over the to press it which makes it even slower. the ad hoc mode is hella fun. my bud at work has a psp also and we both play grand theft auto "liberty city stories". theres like 7 different battle scenarios like capture the tank, destroy as much as possible, race, etc. the best thing about it is that u dont need to be in a wifi spot. its like the psp creates its own WLAN. certain games like burnout lets us race each other even though only im the only one with the game. my psp loads the track and cars onto the other one. it does take awhile but its fun as hell. im thinking about getting the location free transmitter. maybe when its not 300 bucks. frown.gif

to have internet access, you need to be in a wifi hotspot or within range of a wireless router. for that, you would set up your wifi to infrastructure (which means.. to connect to a wireless router).

ad-hoc means you can connect to another local device within range.. this doesn't require you to be near a router. so basically you can play multi-player in ad-hoc directly with a friend.. it's kinda like game-link for GameBoy but way better!
