i got off work late and was pissed off and some guy in the parking lot had challenged me in a p-o-s s10
so im like whatever lets do it, but with the mood i was in i didnt think twice about popping the hood like i usually do to make sure everything is good to go. A week later i hear a rod bearing spining really fast inside my engine so im rushing to figure out what happened. I pulled the oil stick only to find i had ran that guy with no oil, which i had lost oil faster because i was leaking from the oil pan very progressively. Well anyways its to late for the poor old 7afe, all because of a stupid move on my part. I just bought a 94eclipse gst with a jdm swap and now its messing up on me(dont buy a DSM unless you are willing to fix it alot). the point is even though my celica wasnt fast it was dependable and i want it back, does anyone know where i could get a cheap 7afe or maby if someone knows some cheap options for swaping a different motor into my 1994 st.

Try wrecking yard for another 7afe.
For options for swapping motor,

I did the same thing this time last year, (not racing a S10 - but doing donuts in the snow w/o oil).

If it makes you feel any better I got a 7A with 19,xxx on it in a junkyard for $500 - install was $600. Runs like new again, just make sure you keep checking your oil levels.

http://car-part.com/ You can search in your area's junkyards there.

Good Luck,
Todd

BTW: If you want more power... go with a 3S - I was too broke at the time to do that swap.

yeah this guy will sell me his for 500 but it has like 145xxx miles and he had raced it alot and i can swap it in my garage(just bought a engine hoist) and i have looked into the 3sgte but the cheapest i could find it here in houston was at a local racing shop called asaa and they found it for me for 3200 wich is a great deal considering that it has only 75,000 miles and comes with the AWD package i think it was a st205 (255hp) does that sound about right? anyways my mom is mad because of all the money i have used for both of my cars in the past 5months trying to fix them.

for the s family engines you need new harness ecu motor mounts etc waste of money to do the 5sfe the 3ge and 3sgte are about the same in terms of cost you'll need new tranny axels etc.

the cheapest is to replace your blown motor with another 7afe
