Thats damn pretty. Think of it this way, do you need a new car? Are you going away to college? If you do you probably wont have a parking spot first year or two, do you really want to leave the car somewhere else? Its a red sports car, insurance is going to be high. Do you have time to keep a car like that? Thats clearly not a winter car, and its a high maintenance car.

^^^ i am in this predicamint (spell check) thus... making my car nice is rather pointless because i will not have it after next summer because of the coast guard academy

but that is one nice mr2... its a tough call. theres not much to tell your parents. thats how i ended up with a 6gc. they sold my 96 mustang gt because of insurance. i couldnt convince them not to. its a pitty. but one day you will be old enough to afford it and wont have your parents telling you no.

Be careful about that car. The guy dumped alot of money in it and then dynoed about 250whp and immediately sought to sell it. Makes we wonder if there is an engine problem. Check out mr2oc.com for his posts. It might be fine but be careful...

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

yeah i agree with jay . if its such a great car...why get rid of it so fast.

the other thing i would warn you about, is buying such a high powered car at your age. i know that if i had my swaped celica when i was 18, i would probably be dead now.

There is one thing I always tell people.
1.) The body may look like crap and have rust all over, but
2.) It doesn't leak anything
3.) Engine is still strong and oil free
4.) Nothing is broken off the car and engine
5.) The car just needs to be drivable for another 200K Miles and XXXXXX Miles

If you only go for the nice body look and the nice clean paint, than your just gonna run into a whole mess when you find out that the struts are bad, and the engine is leaking oil.

Quite being a baby and just buy it. I would in your shoes. The Celica really sucks in comparision to a MR2. And what the heck new would you buy? A Caviler? lol. Screw a newer car. You only live once and you'll look back on this moment when your old and say, "dang, that was a nice car. Sure glad I bought that." I don't image and old guy saying, "boy, that car was new and reliable, sure was a lot of fun to drive, glad I bought it." Have fun. Read my sig.

I'm in the market for a MR2 Turbo also, but nowhere near in the 12k price range. People are asking so much for these things now, and the thing is... people are paying it. The most I'll spend is gonna be 8k for a stock or SLIGHTLY modified mr2, with a max of 150k miles. After that I'll get rims, lower it, and an full exhaust and I will be done!

I think I had sex with that 2 last weekend, I was drunk at a party, it took advantage of my huge weiner. The car was a very good lay, I recommend buying it, just watch out for the white liquid substance on and around the muffler...

You need a second car to drive around. This is summer/weekend fun toy only. I think this is normal price for clean '93.
