I ask this because this is my first time moving out on my own and the only way for me to park is outside. *sigh* outside... I'm kinda scared about it having to be outside, very paranoid about the taillight so i reverse park my car. But then im also scared about my front bumper. You never know what would happen. So im thinkin about gettin a car cover and just cover it whenever im not driving. This is how much i got love ME car. So do you guys have any advice, tips, or info? its so bothersome.... THANKS

Are you moving into a house or apt? If you move into an apt building then....that could be very scary! Since everyone has to park so close to eachother.
But if its a house & your parking in a driveway (like me) then you should be just fine -------------------- |

mine's out in the street until I get a new apartment (I'm between houses and jobs and stickin it with the parents while job hunting). Only place is the street, and we have our fair share of vandalisms along here. Plus when I was in high school someone stole gas out of one of my cars lol.
As far as parking at an apartment complex I wouldn't worry too much about stuff being stolen unless you're in a really crappy part of town. I've had mine out in apartment lots for quite a while and haven't had a problem. If you're worried about door dings then just park a little further out from the building if you can. My next place will either be an apartment with a garage or a townhome so the car isn't outside. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT

I park my car outside on my street all the time. Three people on my block had thier cars broken into but im not that worried. Just get a good 2way alarm and you'll feel alot safer.

Get a car cover. They're not that expensive, and totally worth it. It'll be white, so it's more likely people will see it, plus they'll figure it's a nice car and really not want to hit it. Also, very few theives or valdals are bold enough to actually take off the car cover. I recently found out that we've got a dodge viper on the our street, and I never knew it just cause he's always got a cover on it.

I park my car outside, however I don't live anywhere where vandalism or theft is a problem. Also, its right outside my bedroom window and if somebody were to come up to it at night theres motion sensor floodlights in my driveway.
Not too bad to have it outside really....when it snows or weather is bad, I put a car cover on it for protection and easy cleanup of snow and ice. Although I still would love a garage to work in and keep the car protected year round. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

Mine lives outside on the street. If i had a garage it would be tucked up in there, but alas I dont...Its been vandalised twice and regularly gets spat at etc. Mental note to self...when buying next house, make sure it has a garage.

They must be jealous!!! I would be, but I wouldn't go to that extreme. Mine is parked under a carport. But I would still love a garage. I got mine parked in the driveway, but backing out onto Sepulveda is a REAL pain. People going like 60mph or bumper to bumper congestion, sigh.

Get an alarm, lock the steering wheel in place and close all windows no matter how hot it is outside and make sure that you don't park in dark alleys or "jacking spots"
A car cover just says to burglars and thieves " Jack me please!" Also if you can park the car in front of a wall or something where nobody can smash into it and run off. |
