I was recently looking into getting some of the kyb gr2s, but then a friend of mine with agx's on a talon recommended them. It seems they don't make the agx struts for our model year celica. What are the main differences between an inexpensive strut such as the gr2, and a more expensive strut such as the agx or koni yellow?

AGX and Knoi Yellows have adjustable dampening... Gr2's are stock replacements.

yeah, I guess the question should have been more like.

Will the adjustable dampening be worth it to me for the extra price?

What are the benefits? I'll primarily be using this for daily driving, nothing too intense.

The benefit is to be able to adjust them for your application, whether it be autocross or daily driving. If you're like me and use your car as a daily driver, with the occasional spirited driving, then I'd fo with the GR2's, some nice springs and Sway Bars.

And your sig looks sweet.

They are too expensive to warrant if you do 90% daily driving with your car. The adjustability factor doesn't neccesarily improve ride quality on a lower'ed car either... cause ride quality is affected by both shocks and springs.

Not to mention that the a car with Koni's will feel stiffer no matter how soft you set it. Not a bad thing necessarily but if you are looking for a cushy ride its probably not ideal.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.
