i just got home last night and my car began to overheat but the temp guage was fine so i thought it was the thermostat or something small like that. so this morning i get up to go to the gas station and all i here is a loud knocking sound coming from the engine. iam guesing i either melted a piston or threw a rod. iam gonna start taking the engine apart to day and see whats up with it. ill keep every one posted. on the bright side hopefully this means a 3sgte swap soon smile.gif

Sounds like a rod knock to me. It's common with the 7afe. Mine blew about 2 months ago. Had to get it relplaced.

if its a rod i think iam just gonna swap the engine for a 3sgte. i would build the 7a for boost but their are no good piston and rod combos out their plus i have an automatic trans and i really wanna get rid of that.

i pulled the oil pan today and found chuncks of the rob bearing in the pan, so iam going to replace them for now and as soon as i sell my ATV iam going to sell my turbo kit and get ready for a 3sgte swap. i should have some were around 4,500.00 after i sell my ATV and turbo kit, and ill have a nother car for around 3 weeks so i think that would b a good time to do it.
