PB Blaster is your friend. Coat whatever bolts you plan on working on the day before you actually do the work. Make sure to use only 6 point sockets and stay away from wrenches whenever possible. An impact is also nice since it doesn't put constant torque on the bolt head's corners and will not round them off... It may however snap the head off the bolt.

PB Blaster works where everything else fails. WD-40 can't touch it. Letting it soak is key so tomorrow should go better for you.

pb blaster helps, but it cant work magic on rounded bolts.
go to sears and but a set of craftsman bolt outs. get the full set that can do 10m- 17m. striped bolts will never be a problem again! -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

How in the world did you manage that? I don't think I've EVER rounded off a nut or bolt using a 6-point socket. no clue man. just my luck i guess. i even re filed a nut 1mm smaller so i could use a fresh socket on it. 13mm. and it still just got all mashed up. in the end i grinded it out. just cut the head off.

I think it's obvious that spraying oil on a rounded off bolt isn't going to help it . The Craftsman Bolt-Out set is however, the best thing since sliced bread. -------------------- Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
