How does it fit? I LOVE the way the stock one looks but mine is shot. Should I just buy a new stock one? Or should I go aftermarket? Post pics if ya got em.
PS, I have a short shifter This post has been edited by djultimate: Dec 29, 2005 - 11:07 PM -------------------- |

I bought one from juje racing (out of business now, I think) and I was very disappointed. They advertised OEM mounting hardware, which was a lie. It was a very generic boot and I had to make my own rectangular frame for the bottom of it out of a coat hangar. If I were to do it again I would take my old boot to an upholstery place and have them make me one using the old one's hardware and use the old leather as a pattern to cut the new stuff.

I think this CF one might be dicksters, but I dont know for sure. I was trying to find one of mine, and I attached one with it..
I dont really need it, if you want mine, I'll sell it pretty cheap. It just sort of clips under stock I believe, I never really looked at a stock one. Unless the OEM one is actually sewn into the boot? -------------------- If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

I also got my mum to make one, made from fake leather/vinyl stuff. All she did was take apart my old shifter, use the pieces as templates, and resew it together and onto the wire.

QUOTE(ShadowFX @ Jan 2, 2006 - 2:59 AM) is that including the wire frame? Not sure. It's the one that Cutrara has and his pic above looks GREAT. I should have it in a few days and I will let you know if it comes with the frame. -------------------- |

Like you said before, the customer service... Best I've ever dealt with. Very very nice and knowledgable people there.
I got a standard one, and trimmed it, and pushed it downs around the shifter because the look reminds me of the MR2 shift boot. Mine didn't come with the frame, I just took my old one and pushed it on the bottom of the boot and snapped it in. It looks, feels, and works great. I also had to use my stock shifter ring, and just hot glued it in. That pic doesn't do it justice, especially after I put too much Armorall on it, it looks too shiny in that pic. Your black with white stitching will look great though, I wanted something stock looking, with a subtle custom feel, when you look closely at it. Post pics when you install it! -------------------- |

i have one like mac's, and an old red vynal one my buddy gave me off his cav. I had to cut the metal ring out of the original one to get it 2 fit and it fits fine. And to be honest, most shift boots, even the momo and sparco ones, are the exact same thing. Momo and sparco just put a lil polished aluminum ring around the top where the knob comes down, and slap the word MOMO or Sparco on it and sell em for like $80 each.
