QUOTE(celi_gt_racer @ Jan 2, 2006 - 11:19 PM) technically ..... 13b's aren't 1.3 liters.... by sport compact car's (the magazine) definition - they are really a 2.6 .... but alot of the rx-7 crowd argues otherwise SCC magazine was on drugs, the 13b has two rotors, each one equivalent to .6 L......so both of them together equal 1.3L, and by just looking at a 13b, the wankel is friggin small:P. my 86 Base N/A, ran a 15.4 with 136rwhp lol!! I miss my 7 every day:( This post has been edited by 95celgt: Jan 3, 2006 - 3:54 PM |

BTW, my turbo is considered small. It will hit 200 ft/lbs of torque at 2800rpms but still will make 300whp+ I think I will be at about 280whp at 16-17psi in a basically BPU application. If you want to know who is making big power, take a look at Tufy's new set-up, Nik's, and Mr. E's. Those are some crazy awsome set-ups but everything is a trade-off. You can't have huge power without considerable lag. Also, with power over 300hp on a 4cyl import, price and unreliability increase exponentially. Once you are over 225 ft/lbs of torque, traction WILL be an issue in a FWD car anyway. One thing I have learned through the experience of this build is that you should ask yourself "How am I going to use this power?" The answer might be spirited street driving, autocross, drag strip, etc. The answer to that question will greatly help you make good decisions in the build process. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

What kinda turbo did you update to? I'd def like to run you. I was hoping there'd be a 3S swapped celi near my area, but this even better. Come to the national 6gc meet at the tail of the dragon in May. I am planning on going. As for "running me", I haven't taken her to the track yet and doubt that I will. This is a street car and I don't street race except for some safe stop light to stop light action where no traffic laws are broken. Fair enough. I'm dissapointed, but that only reflects my appreciation for your finely built 6GC.
I may do the tail of the dragon, depends if any of the other 3S guys wanna make it worth my while. -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

Pretend with me for a moment that you actually have a fast car. Wouldn't you want to run other cars that you have an interest in? I did use to be really into this whole "making a celica go fast" thing, thus why my interest in racing a 3S celica. As far as my numbers go, I bought the FC when the tracks closed down, but as soon as they open, I'll be first in line. Here's all I'm saying about the FC: -Stock ports -Stock turbo This post has been edited by SlowCelica94: Jan 4, 2006 - 12:17 AM -------------------- NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife

rx7's are just on a completely different level compared to a celica. They were made to be true sports cars so driving one is a great feeling.....
