I am currently saving up money to buy a 3sgte, and i think im gunna order a half cut from jarco. Its gunna run me 3,700 for a sw20 mr2 (3rd gen) good buy? Jarco looks the most profesional to me and i do want a haft cut for all the extra bull****. Little feed back would be nice.

Thanks, Brad

jarco is great, but id recommend a st205 clip over the mr2 if its gonna be going into a celica.

yes it has a 3sgte, but a 3sgte from an st205 will swap in easier. however, i think the mr2 clip is a better choice for hawkins since he has an st and will need a tranny as well.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Jarco is great. I got my clip from there, very clean. Runs perfect.

The price is worth it, I had not one headache buying from them. I'd buy another clip from them in a heartbeat.

I think you're thinking of a SECOND gen MR2 with a 3S-GTE. 3rd gens didn't come with a 3S wink.gif

i know. hawkins said sw20, which is 2nd gen mr2. he meant 3rd gen 3sgte i believe. those ugly spyders should of came with a 3sgte, would make find swap donor cars in the US much easier biggrin.gif.

the point is.... unless you have a spare 3sgte to borrow parts from, or really know what you are doing . do NOT buy an mr2 clip. it will make your swap a lot harder then a celica clip.

defenetly go with the mr2 clip.... mr2 tranny is the best one to use for these swaps... its supper strong and has LSD, it takes more work to mount, but its worth it...

and there is a 3rd gen mr2 3sgte... i have it in my car...never have any problems with the tranny, i ran 295whp on stock clutch and flywheel with no problems...... in the end the mr2 tranny makes it worth the extra work...

but you had a shop that knew what they were doing, do your swap. the point some of us are trying to make, is that if this is your 1st swap, the mr2 clip will make it a lot harder.

Whats the differences between the st205 and the sw20?

Also would you think that price included shipping if not how much to get that big ass thing shiped overseas?

if you get a MR2 clip you have to swap out more parts from the clip into the celica, and do some adjusting to move other pieces.
you'll have to get axles to provide for the mr2 tranny.
mr2 clips are generally more $ when manual.
if you are interested in the tranny i would recommend ChicoRaceWorks, but i believe SuperSprynt had a real bad buy w/ them

honestly man.... stop right now. start doing a lot more research before you buy anything. if you jump into this without having a full game plan, you will be just creating a lot of problems for youself or whoever may be doing your swap. read all the stickies, research the hell out of this site, as well as celicatech.com and have a full game plan. know why one clip is better then the other.... once u learn all that, then go a head a buy whatever you want.

then you may have posted prematurely
after studying more and more you'll end up finding the answers to ALL your questions, including this one
in the end you might have a tiny quesiton like "what spark plugs do i get?"
when you get there, move on to MR2OC. they have all the questions that would pop up about maintaining the car answered.
