Foglights, WHITE OR YELLOW Options

Mine are PIAA, and they work great. They split right through the crap known as rain and fog. My passenger side is broken though. The top half of the housing broke off somehow (previous owner) and so he turned it upside-down and covered it with foil. Its much more of a dull yellow than the other one. Maybe I'll replace them soon.

Yellow works ten times better for foggy conditions. Ever turn on your brights in the fog? That's almost what it's like having white fogs. If you just want to look cool, go with white. If you want lights that actually do what they are meant to do.. go with yellow.

PS- All of this "omg that _____ is so JDM hot!!!" stuff is getting old. fast.

I agree with the JDM stuff but disagree with everything else in this post. Yellow lights help the driver see marginally better in the fog. The thing that makes the biggest difference is the light pattern. True fog lights have a different pattern. The white PIAA lights (and others) are actually "driving" lights - not fog lights. So, if you get those, they won't be a good as the yellows. There are true white fogs out there that will perform very well.

Jay, the difference is pretty far from marginal. I exaggerated about white fogs being like driving with brights, but yellow fogs will definately perform better than white ones, in bad driving conditions. There are several people in this thread that have explained exactly why, so there's no reason for me to be redundant. Simply put, yellow fogs can be found cheap, and they work well due to their color. To get the same performance from a white fog light, you will spend much more money.
