Hey ppl.....I need some opinions. My 96 st broke down about 2 weeks ago....just bought the sucker in oct......anyhow...went out to start it one day and it wouldnt start....It tried to, but kept spitting and spurting and finally died. Had it towed to the shop and they tell me it was the timing belt. Ok they put anew belt on and still same trouble. They finally decided it was the crankshaft position sensor. They replaced it and it starts now. Only problem is it hesitates on acceleration, misses throughout the driving speed ranges, so when I floor it all i get is a buncha bucking and missing. It goes into a toyota specialist on thur. but im haven a fit wondering wtf is wrong with my baby. It drove like a dream before all this started. It now has new distributor, plugs, wires, timing belt, hell they even cleaned the injectors. Anyone have any ideas?

Umm it sounds to me like the timing may be off. Take it back to the shop and ask them to check the timing.

There was so much JDM trapped inside that box that they couldn't contain it, so they had to put a JDM hole in the box to let the JDM out. may be the rotor arm in the distributor if that wasn't changed. they may have only changed the cap. If it bangs pops and farts on start up it might be that. Or might even be the ignition leads if they werent checked!
