ok I have received mutplie pms and or IM's saying how I am ruining 6gc for my antics that Manny posted about in Lissa's thread. The thing is, I had a repsonse thread and Jeff deleted it for unknown reasons. So here is my justification again.

As to Manny's comment is Lissa's thread I tried ripping people off $2 per keychain in the group buy. This was NOT the case and if it is said other wise, I regret to inform you that you are wrong. Randy contacted me about the group buy asking questions. He mentioned he was VERY busy and didn't have time to head it up. I said it was NOT a problem because I need more experience in successfully running a group buy. At one point a profit for me was mentioned, but it wasn't expected. I knew I was getting a free keychain out of it and that was enough for me.

Side Skirts: Manny posted that I was making $30 off of each side skirts that were in the gb that I attempted to run. This is true. I was looking at $200 in additional expenses to ship the side skirts to Lithuanina and then back to me and it wasn't fair that I lost that money. So I set the gb at 6 people and added $30 per set. That is still me losing $20 in something totally unrelated to me which is fine. I had very good intentions with that gb and getting it started. They are such a rare item I wanted others to have a chance to get them. I specifically stated to Randy while we were "bidding" on the skirts that it would be around $300 pending some expenses. I stand by my decision to add on $30 to each set to COVER costs, and not a profit.

I will make NOTHING off of it, simply ask Romas. He gave me the exact price and that is what I posted. If there were mosre than 10 people I would receive a discount for EVERYONE, and they would have gotten it.

Conclusion:
Regardless of what everyone thinks my intentions were not bad. and if they were, this is America and everyone has the right to be profitable. Please stop with the bashing of my name. It is pointless. If you're going to bring my name into trying to make a profit, turn to everyone who has ever ran a gb on here minus the JDM side skirts that is going on and see who is making a profit. Exactly, every person is. Post your feelings if you like. I'm actually eager to see if this mattered to anyone.

i see nothing wrong with somone marking up the price a bit on a group buy, where they have to recieve all the products, then spend time keeping track of who paid, and repackage and reship to those people. they deserve something for their time. if anything, people should be mad at the original maker (like doggy) for using a middle man and not just dealing directly with everyone.

i thnk its up to everyone to decide whats best for them. look at the group buy price, and then shop around. if you can get it for less somewhere else, then screw the group buy. but if the groupbuy has the lowest price around, then i dont care if the guy running it marked it up by a few bucks.

I dont think anyone should become angry at the middle man, because in Romas' case, he is a very busy man who doesn't have time to deal with this part of the deal. I do not blame Romas for any of this. But I do agree with the rest of your post Art

the whole point of what i wrote has to do with the idea of making $$ off of people without them even knowing. i never said it was wrong to charge for shipping or whatever.
the idea behind GB's is to SAVE money, not for the person whos running it to make a profit. if the guy running it gets an extra discount, or whatever for running it from the manufacurer, thats fine, but for instance charging 30$ for somthing in a GB when it actually only costs 26$ is not right IMO. if you need to add to the end price to cover shipping, thats fine, just make sure you STATE it, so that there is NO confusion or question about it.
i just found out about player making $$ off the CF panel GB. he says he ended up not making anything in the end, but thats besides the point.
its not right.
if ANYONE should be making $$ off this site(besides the people who are producing the product), it should be CHRISTIAN. not anyone else.
this is supossed to be a COMMUNITY, where we help each other out, not make money off selling someone elses work.
if running a GB is too much hassle for you to do for FREE, you shouldnt be running it at all.
Ill also say, just so everyone knows, these are MY thoughts, and mine only. i havent disscused it with christian, and for all i know, he could feel totally the opposite of what i do, and thats fine.

Im with Manny at all 100%.

But at one point im covering Dustin side too. On DUCKTAIL - he would not MAKE ANY single cent.... As for other GB he did - let this stay on his conscience... Its enouth guys to blame him.. either he did this intensionaly, or he just aint thought about explaining everything to the GB people....

Another thing - sometimes for people like me its really really good to have a middle man, just what i dont have full access to payment systems and etc... I ussualy offer a free product of big discount from my side for the guy who is running a GB...


And Jeff - please, let this run and all this $hit NEEDS to be explained and beated to death, there is no need to just cut off and leave Dustin in $hit... Let him explaint, let everyone explaint all this, and maybe this will be a good point for eveyone in the Future...

I agree with the kid on this one even though I wouldn't try to make money on a group buy that I was running (assuming I was getting the part too). I say if you don't like him making a profit, just don't buy what is for sale in the group buy.

On the other hand, I don't have a problem with people saying what they think of him charging a premium for the group buy that he is a part of. If its true that he is getting money or a reduced price piece, people have a right to express their opinions as long as they are opinions and not outright defamatory (e.g. "Dustin 'stole' our money"....that would be inappropriate. However, "Dusting is a greedy SOB"...thats an opinion and, while I generally disagree with it, does not offend me)

i agree I did act very premaurely on the lotus side skirt gb... Ben shipped me the side skirts at $14.00 or so and i put THOSE measurement in oringinally when talking to Romas and he gave the the $300 pricing. At Bens' measurements and weights it would have been around $30 to ship to Romas, but after speaking to Romas about all the extra padding and precautions needed for internatiional shipping I jumped from $30 there and $30 back, to $100 there and $100 back

Suspended privileges because of a failed group buy? Awhile back, I started group buy threads for a big break kit, some expensive car ramps, some D2 coilovers, and other things. None of these worked out because lack of interest. Are my privileges to run a group buy going to be suspended too?

Lets be candid. Its all about the kid trying to make a few bucks off other members. It rubs some people the wrong way and causes controversy you don't want to deal with. I think thats a good reason to delete the posts or lock the thread. Deleting the thread or suspending privileges is a little over the top, IMO.

Wow apprently I havent been pay'n attention at all.

I am on the fence with all this but I thought I might give my example. I was selling alot of things for a while, and I never knew what to charge for shipping, so I would just shoot prices, sometimes it would like 10$ less then what I thought it might be, I dont personaly think it was wrong to keep the extra money *IF* the person receiveing didnt agree with the original shipping price.

I believe that not every group buy is gonna go down, sometimes there just isnt the demand, but once and a while for the people searching for them get lucky and they are willing to pay anything reasonable, and that is there choice what they pay, reguard of if the runner of the group buy makes profit or not.

Reguardless just my thoughts.

I'm with madmods...let's just let this all go and keep the group buys off the site for a few days while the mods and I work on some better rules regarding things.

And Jay, failed group buys aren't so much a headache, but when they fail because people start arguing over them and management has to clean threads over and over and when I get people nagging me about group buys and stuff all the time and arguing over stuff like this all over the site it really gets old fast.

well i suggest a rules and regulations post for future members who intend to set up GB. and also needs to consult either Coomer, Defgeph or Presure2 before the GB can be approved or.. vendors GB only. i think this will not lead to any of this confusion and dissatisfaction etc.. just muh 0.2c

Im in for the stick rules for GB, and im in for the Vendors Fee witch SHOULD go to Chris. i personally like the System on MR2 oc, and i do think we all should be glad we have a place like this what Chris made, and what we have to be thankfull to Chris to have access to all the paople on this site - so if you wanna make profit - pay atleast some $ to the owner of this site who pays for all the maintance and stuff - this way all would be fair.
