Um. Which hose? On mine, I was forced to leave a hose loose. The "vital" hose is the crank case vent, which needs to go from the crank case to the intake pipe. I think the cleaner option is to install a catch tank. However, for the time being, I've just got a loose hose floating around in there.
Here's what my 99 GT had. On the stock intake pipe, there was the temp sensor, the tube coming from the crank case, and one going from the intake pipe down to somewhere, which I didn't bother to figure out. That's for tomorrow. As far as I know, the important thing to do is reinsert the temp sensor, and clamp the tube coming from the crank case to the intake pipe. P.S. I'm assuming the rationale for running the CAI pipe outside like so many seem to do would be it keeps the pipe cooler? I just ran mine straight forward to the left of the battery, then down below the battery, but it does pick up a lot of heat from the exhaust manifold.

Yup, that's the reason. The air inside the fender is cooler than in the engine compartment. That's why the stock "piping" is setup like that.
