Im pretty sure im right but im just making sure, the little light in the upper left hand corner of the dash is the factory alarm. I know it is an alarm but i dont know if its factory. I have a 94 gt. Im asking because about two months after i got my car the alarm was acting up. I would arm it and then get out of school and it wouldnt unarm. It would do nothing no matter how hard i mashed on the button. So a few times I would have to open the hood with the alarm going disconnect the ground to get the sound off and take the battery off, then put back on to get my car started. I even had to plead to a cop that i wasn't stealing my own car. Twice it happened in broad daylight of the college parking lot. (major embarrasing!) so anyway has this happened to you guys? I went to a car audio and alarm place and they said it wasnt factory.

what kinda alarm is it??

I have a 94 that used to be a GT and it came with a CODE alarm... but I got it used so I am not sure if it was factory or not.. The install on it was REALLY good so that would tell me that it was factory or dealership done. as for a light on the gauge panel I dont know cuz I never had ne come up beside check engine...

Jonietech might know more about this he seems to know alot about the electrical side of the 6th gen

I have a 94 GT and all it has is the stock alarm, but my light is on the lower part of my dash, you can't really see it, it's by the ingnition/next to the radio.

jumpinccv.... just thought of something... does your alarm have a valet switch??? It's usally under the dash or in the fuse compartment... will probably be just a small silver switch. try flipping in to the setting that it isn't on now and that might help

You sure it's not just that the batteries on ur remote arent dead?? That would explain that if it's stock (your alarm not turning off after clicking the button hellza times).....maybe it'll arm but not open with the weak batteries. Seems like too simple of an explanation, but sometimes those are the best.
