QUOTE(Negative @ Jun 28, 2006 - 8:47 AM) This is sweet - I was going to get another hazard light switch and use it to wire push button start. Now all I have to do is figure out some way to get one of these, remove the paint showing the light and then the fun part begins - wiring that up. UTSlickVic - where did you get your switch and how much $? ebay. I just ran into it out of the blue. I was lucky. I think I ended up paying $80 shipped form UK. It was kinda pricey but worth it in the end IMO. I thought it was a rare part so I went for it. -------------------- |

QUOTE(malpaso @ Jun 28, 2006 - 8:08 AM) it's this bulb: Do you have that in USDM celicas also? Will that indicator be operating also for you? Ok, I tried really hard to see if I could get a glimps of that fog light "on" indicator on the front gauge cluster... I used a flash light and used sun light and from what I can see, I can not make out of there is actual indicator on the cluster. In the sun you can see the oil indicator, e-brake, etc. I guess what Im doing is tip-toeing around the real answer. I need to look behind it to know for sure. Does anyone know our have pics of the back of their guage cluster, much like malpaso's pic on page 2? a USDM gauge cluster . We just need confirmation weather or not the USDM cluster has a fog light indicator. My gut says it should. Thanks. -------------------- |

Thanks for all the advice, I will be trying to install mine in the next little while. Let me know how it goes with getting a light in the cluster. Will it simply take putting a bulb in there and the wiring circuit should exist? What size bulb is that in the cluster?
By the way I found my switch by signing up at Celica Club UK and then simply placing a WTB thread on their forum. I ended up getting a reply right away and got it for $25CAD shipped to me. -------------------- |

Do we have a part number for those sockets from Toyota? I would like to buy a few of them.
As for the price, I think I did luck out. It doesn't seem that anybody else can get it for that cheap, even from the same seller on that UK Celica Club. This post has been edited by WALKER: Aug 30, 2006 - 11:34 AM -------------------- |

USDM celica question....
Do our celica's already come with a plug back there for the button? So, basicaly, once i have a button (the back has a male plug with metal clips coming out of it. No wires though.) -- we plug it into an already wired in connector, or do you need to solder, and do all the wiring? -snap -------------------- Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJ

No unfortunately we have no harness or plug. All I have now is the switch and the back looks like this.
So basically I am now in search of a harness plug that will go into it. Maybe we can hunt down a part number for this harness and get it from Toyota, if not I guess back over to the fun on the UK Website (inside joke between snapshotgt and me!). I sent malpaso a PM and hopefully he can come up with a part number for us. This post has been edited by WALKER: Aug 31, 2006 - 10:03 AM -------------------- |

guys the plug for the back of that is part of the main interior wire harness, which runs throughout the inside of your dashboard. The plug cannot be purchased on it's own from toyota, you would have to get the entire harness which is huge $$.
