UK spec OEM fog light switch/button, Installed on USDM (LHS) Pics! Options

guys the plug for the back of that is part of the main interior wire harness, which runs throughout the inside of your dashboard. The plug cannot be purchased on it's own from toyota, you would have to get the entire harness which is huge $$.

but I could be wrong. I think Martin (malpaso) is looking into this as we speak. I know I have tried before for another harness and I was given a big no by the toyota dealership. Let's see what he comes up with, good luck Martin

yes and no... Dustin is right about "big no". For common customer is impossible get any connector harness... but technicly it is possible. Every "genuine" Toyota car service must have special catalog of any plug or harness in Toyota (of course with part numbers). I have seen once this catalog and tried look for some JDM connectors for projectors... there are no model cars, just drawings with connectors and numbers with short specification. If you find anything what looks usefull, you have no chance for checking you have exactly what you want... result is just some part number.Then you must find out in which car is that part used and check if it's right thing...If it is, time for ordering , if its not...new searching in that catalog...so nothing easy and of course someone must let you search in that catalog . I belive much easier is improvise or find it from junk yard...

p.s.: just for your info. One connector bought that way costs about $30-40... just stupid wire harness...

I would have to agree with batman/malpaso on the "harness" section we want added. Pointless to go to Toyota for this, as they said, since its a part of the entire harness they would only sell the entire harness (if they have it mind you). And we all know how freaking expensive harnesses are.

The harness I have in the back of my UKDM plug came with my purchase (see below). So I guess, one of the 4 wires can be wired to the newly found fog light indicator plug (BTW great job in finding that!). Much like how I "rigged" my accent lights on the Projector headlights. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyways for yall who dont have this illusive button harness: If you look at the hazard light button/harness, it should be VERY similiar to the UKDM fog light button/harness. I'm thinking the hazard light harnesses may plug into the back of the fog light button. This would be everyones best bet. Does this make sense? I'm I off base? I know that the UKDM fog light button and the hazard light button are really similiar... so .... shouldnt the harness sections be also?



EDIT: I'm in Austin right now and I dont have my car so... I cant see if what I just recommended is true.

Just to update you guys on this. One of the harnesses from the climate control panel fits perfectly into the UK fog light switch. The only problem I see is that the points are not the same, for the UK fog light swtich you need 1,3,4,6 I believe (says above in the diagram), however the harness from the climate control has wires coming out of other spots, not sure exactly which ones.

I believe that the wires can easily be moved to the 1,3,4,6 spots since it is just a harness and then it will work perfectly. I will keep you guys informed on how this works out for me.

When i bought mine, i made sure they gave me the button, plug and some harness ...what can i say...i just made sure they did this!

wow forgot about this thread....

but I still havnt forgot about the cluster indicator light, everytime I forget to turn my fogs off I vow to get the indicator light working... then I forget to do it. Its a vicious cycle.

To tell you the truth, this is yet another project that I haven't got to on my celica. Hard to believe it was so long ago. I will try and get around to it in the next couple months, now that the weather has finally warmed up.

that fog light indicator is for the fron or the rears. I dont have the bulb., but i do have oem fogs. should i just put a bulb there see what happnes..

the indicator is for the rears. To have a rear fog it's nessessary to make it legal. If you put a bulb in yours nothing would happen.

OH! Ok, i see now. This whole time i thought you were talking about the front fog lights. Here i was thinking what the big deal was about the switch since mine is located on the same lever as the headlight controls.
