ive had my celica for about 4 months now and i was wondering what the average gas mileages on others calicas. i get about 10km/litre (24 miles per gallon). and also is high octane gas recomended for the 5sfe? ive heard that the owners mannual recomends it? true false? well ive only put HOG in my tank so far, just to be on the safe side.

had a 5th gen proir to this and i remember getting about 12km/litre on good days, same engine and all. i guess the 6th gens are really "PHAT" cars after all...................your thoughts?

and the 3s people can post there mileage too...im just curious

I've done this before, but just for your info:

I get 29-30 mpg with the 5sfe, country driving usually in the 40-50 mph range. Highway is typically not any better due to the short gearing. I wish I had a sixth gear; it would net me another mpg easily.

nice to see a good amount of members just giving the answer since it takes them the same amount of time as it does to type what Dr. wrote! lets not discourage members but rather inform them and tell them the answer and that next time they can try the search button.

No. . searching could find litterally dozens of answers in less than 1 min. This thread will take a few days to get there, thats called effeciency. It's not called discourage. . it's called this has been covered so instead of wasting coomers bandwidth and people's time, just read what has already been written. You think the search button was put there by accident ?

just to clear things. i do search before i post a question. its just this time the search option gave me this when i searched for this key word " gas or gas mileage"
QUOTE
One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please go back and increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords.

therefore i posted.

dont mean to get on ppls bad sides.

but since ppl are contributing to this post, i guess it wasnt senseless after all.

wow most of you guys are pushing 30mpg wen i only push 25-26 at the most i guess somethings wrong with my engine or im just doin something wrong. how can i "boost" up my mileage??

I doubt going from 87-89 helps 2-4mpg and 33 mpg is excellent

- lowest 38 MPG (120km/h on a highway)
- average 26.7 MPG (average mix of city and highway)
- maximum 19.6 MPG (pedal to the metal :-) and speeds over 125mph)
