er.. ok.. my celica might not be moving for a month or 2... so i'm wondering.. for those people that store their cars for long periods of time... is there anything you need to prep before leaving it standing still for so long? since i heard it oculd be bad if you just let it sit for too long

When I parked mine I first drove around until I used up almost all of the gas. Other than that though, I didn't do anything else except disconnect the battery. Before I drive it again though, I'm going to change the oil.

I left it at around 1/2 1/4 tank... and disconnected the battery but occasionally go over, hook everything up and start 'er up and just let it idle so things run smoothly

u should be fine just unplug the battery and let it site there. You could also put some of that stuff in your gas that makes the gas not get old. And when you get back just start her up and let her sit and idle for a bit then take her out wink.gif

My car was sitting for nearly 3 months before I drove it again. I took the battery out and charged it on a battery charger. My gas was nearly full and it ran without a problem. Regular oil only really needs changed if it's been in the engine for 6 months, otherwise it should be fine as well. For the gas, I'd think the same thing, though you could throw in a bottle of stabilizer if you feel like it.

dont worry about the gas, it dosnt go bad for years

disconnect the battery and thats it.

the real tip is what you should do when you go to start it back up. remove your efi fuse and crank the car for about 20secons untill the oil light on your dash goes off. then put the efi fuse back in and start her up. this will make sure that the motor is not going to get any extra wear from being fired up with no oil presure from sitting for so long.

you may want to start it every 2 weeks and leave it to idle for 20 mins or so... it's would be a good idea for cold climate cities
