You really do need to have stuff, and make a splash at a car show, otherwise why would they give you money? They dont hand them out, and stay from "carsponsorships.com" or something like that.
Manufacturers give out parts as advertisement, if nobody cares to see your car, its a waste of their money. Ya jive? -------------------- |

i am a part of the TOYOTA/TRD USA Racing Contingency program w00t for deeply discounted OE Toyota and TRD parts and the possibilty of being paid to win... though that is VERY unlikely at this point. I also used to be sponsored with my old MR2 by a local shop called AutoCity Imports... I got some work done by them pretty cheap then we lost contact. And was also sponsored with the old car by AutoXtasy Motorsports... and anyone who remembers the GB they did here a while back knows how that turned out.... bastards.

i was partially sponsored by the shop that did my paint and body work. really,i was sponsored by the same guy with his old shop. i got parts at cost and free install. when he went paint, i got labor for free and just had to buy materials.
all i did was buy stuff from him, hang out after work and he asked me if i wanted to be partially sponsored. plus, being the only 6gc within a 2 hour radious helped out too. lol -------------------- Jared Harwell

not a stupid question, I hope some of the threads I've contributed to lately haven't caused people to be afraid to ask questions.
good luck on the sponsorship, I'm not sure about how to get one. I always steered clear of trying to get a sponsor, I always thought that the car should be an artwork of mine. I'd get rather disapointed if I had all kinds of stickers on it, making it an advertisement. To each his own, then again, I'm not really into the car show scene... sorry i didnt elaborate more... basically the 2 shop sponsorships i got by knowing people... and wouldnt ya know it... both turned out to be busts (after atleast getting some decent work done) the Toyota/TRD thing you just have to race regularly in a sanctionized series (IE: NASA, SCCA, or something like that) then you just send in your forms and your set.

Id watch out if I were you guys for scams, fraud, and cheap sponsors. You never know what they might be thinking, they might just say they will sponsor you then left you hanging dry at the end when you have blew all that cash, saying that they will reimburst you. Anybody who wants you to blow a 5hit load of money first on them is as good as saying " 5ucks 2 be U 3itch!"
Put all your money onto your car first then get it reconized by the proper people, then your talking business. A pimped up 6GC is more Ultra rare then a pimped up civic....or neon. |
