It gets exciting from there. When I accelerate it pulls to the right. If I am spinning the
front wheels and correcting the torque steer when it hooks up the steering gos from hard, to real easy in a matter of milliseconds. If you are pulling the wheel to the left and you get a 100 shot of power steering, the effects can be violent. Really wondering how higher HP fwd celis deal with this problem. -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.

Dude, my old built Implus had such bad torque stear. It would jerk you right into the wall if you didn't death grip the wheel. The Celica is a dream to drive compared to it. I hardly feel like I have to hold it at all. Maybe there's something wrong with your car. Is the ps working right?

I didn't even know we had that, and it didn't register that it was in your first post either. My Celica drives great at higher and low speeds as far as comfert. It's a little numb with hard cornering, but that's it. Toyota should have never put SSS on our cars, or OBD2 systems. Lost 5 hp on that. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy

Lost 5 hp on that. I'm pretty sure OBD2 was a requirement for all auto makers in the US for 96+ models. OBD2 was a requirement for every car to be sold in the US for 1996 on up. And I think SSS was in all 6th gen's. As for who asked about Speed Sensitive Steering, it's a system that will adjust the amount of power assistance the power steering gives to you dependent on your speed. For example, when you're doing 5 mph in a parking lot you will have full assistance to turn the wheel, but at 75 mph on the highway you will have very little power assistance because due to the physics of the whole high speed thing it will be easier to turn the wheel without the power steering. -------------------- 1999 Celica GT
