so yeah, i got my tails last summer from a used 98 beams celica.
at first, i was wondering why my rear hatch interior light wasn't working so i took off the panels and noticed the previous owner had pulled off the plastic panel while the wire connector for the light was still plugged in. the last owner had yanked out the entire panel and the connectors were pulled right off. while i'm on this topic, and i don't mean to trail off like this, but anybody have a spare interior hatch panel with interior light? anyways, since i had all the rear panels off, i decided to put on the tail lights.. i was initially planning for these to go on this spring when the skirts and splitters get installed. ** please don't let my car get rear ended this winter ** pics: Before During and After i didn't think the install would be so easy.. this has to be the easiest mod i've done on any of my previous cars. also i was worried since i've heard about some rubber seal being hard to pull out.. now i know what he meant and really wasn't so difficult (no offense to whoever that was). probably not worth making a new thread about this but i came home from school today and saw this: luckily, i checked all around and saw no signs of keying or vandalism.. probably just some little punks jealous cuz i got my jdm tails on -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Just ta let ya know you really didn't have to take the plastics out to change the tail lights. (unless you did just to figure out your trunk light) But just a little info if you thought you had to take it out to change tail lights.
LOOKS good by the way This post has been edited by celiracer: Jan 30, 2006 - 8:28 PM -------------------- |

Cut and take out the orange lens inside the indicators.
Cut the wire for the inner brakelight so that they only turn on fullbright when your brake is applied. -------------------- www.tangcla.com - photography

funny you guys talk about getting rear ended. The reason I got my tails was because some guy in a truck backed his trailer hitch right into my driver side tail light. He gave me his info and the insurance money bought me my JDM tail lights I was 5 feet from my car when he hit it. I literally locked the doors walked away and heard a cracking noise. I was upset.

QUOTE(amysmojo @ Jan 30, 2006 - 11:47 PM) very nice!! I want to get some TOO *whispers in amy's ear* GET UM..GET UM!! I'm glad I made this conversion, I think it really compliments our cars much better. I'm afraid of getting them damaged also. I check them everytime I come back from parking it where ever. I want to sell my OEM's but I've been keeping them just in case something happens to the JDM's. *knocks on wood* |
