So my friend bought himself a 1J engine for his supra. Where gonna go and wire it up when it comes in. Hes gonna focus on the Mechnical Aspect and I told Him I'll do the wiring. I can't wait to see the new engine and what kind of bad a55 engine it will be. Hopefully, it will smoke the 240SX Redtops and V8 small blocks. More pictures to come when the engine gets in and the progess of the swap.

1j MKIII's are pretty quick. theres a guy from the local supra club who has one. Its pretty nice, but there are guys with built up 7mgte's that are producing more power. For the amount this guy put his 1j into his surpa for, this other guy bought a 7mgte, got it professionaly rebuilt, full HKS internals, HKS turbo, CP racing full intercooler hard piping, SSQ BOV, 2JZ individual ignitian coils..like fully coustom..hez got 450 or 500whp on it. They are nice swaps for somethin kinda unique, but you could do better for the $.

well if you can 1jz you can 2jz
and the 1jz head fits on the 1jz block as well 600whp is VERY attainable for the GE block even, when turboed. Personally, i dont want a HP monster as much as i want something awesomely fun + driveable. depending on how well i get power down w/ wide tires, i'd like to be ~450-500 -------------------- ![]() |

Told him to go the 7M route, but its too much money. JE pistons ring 1K, and then you still need other stuff to make it work such as bearings and what not. So....To have the complete project in less time, he decided to just toss in the 1J engine cause it could hold up to 900HP before it explodes. Then again, were talking about somebody who has 3 7M engines. 2J's just cost too much and he only had 1.4K saved up.

1.4k, for a 1jz swap he doesn't need too much more, heh
iunno how much more difficult it is in the mkii, but some guy just grabbed an engine and threw it in his car(tranny and all(auto)) and his total cost was $1600. that was when the engine sets were 1250 to your door :\ i just bought my clip...engine set wasn't guaranteeing a SMIC and some other stuff, so i played it safe. -------------------- ![]() |
