i'm so sad. i threw a rod about 3 weeks ago while driving home from my parents house. so after about a week of having my wife drive me everywhere, i decided i needed to move on in my life and not fix the celica and just buy a new car. ::sigh:: wanna know the worst thing about it, i have brand new kybs and drop springs that i never got a chance to put on. they are just sitting there...oh well. i just thought i would share.

Yeah brother, the engines are so easy to find and so easy to install. HONESTLY...easy to install. Don't get rid of her...you'll regret it. You know how many times I have thought of just getting a MKIV Supra and get rid of the Celica, since everybody thinks it's a Supra? I will not sell that Celica for anything...and mine is more broken than yours. I will probably have to spend over $10,000 to finish it...body work, paint, engine, etc...but life is too short to give up on things I love...so I'll spend the money little by little.

i say buy another car. it'll be less trouble than doing an engine swap. but make sure you buy another celica haha. that way you can keep your shocks and springs.

I won't try to influence your decision. However, what kind of "drop spring" are they, and would you be willing to sell them to me? Thanks.

MAN! you are in the same boat as I was. I had my KYB Struts and Dropzone springs as well then my rod bearing BROKE! I don't know wats going on but it seems that if you buy those two items at once your luck goes running dry and your engine Breaks down!
Rod bearing is an easy fix, just take out your engine, buy a engine rebuild kit and go from there. There is no hard to remove parts. After taking my engine apart, Im starting to relize that I should have just rebuild it for $500, then swap it for $2000. |
