You don't want to lose the tape deck? In case of what?

I have a Dual deck (which is awesome, I might add). It comes with an iPlug which you plug straight into your iPod. Works great, sound is exceptional. You can get one at Best Buy.

A lot of newer decks have an input either in the front or the back that you can just run a wire between your ipod and the head unit.

I am not sure what is the problem (or the question)?

Get yourself a decent tape deck and CD stacker combo if you want both CD and tape (and don't want to go doubled in), and run your ipod through the decks inputs, or a cassette adapter.
