Okay for those of you who REALLY know me..you should know im a dedicated Supra nut. When the Supra in 98 was discontinued I was crying..literally LOL. For a lil bit I had some hope for numerous concept cars were coming out. I knew they were all fake and began to lose hope...untill...
*glimmer of light* My friends in Toyota of Japan notified me of a project that was on the drawing board a few months ago. After a few months our suspecians came clear... The Supra is coming back. At first I was weary...because there were too many crap pictures out there...photochopped etc...but now I believe I have stumbled on it... The 2005/2006 Supra currently is a concept in Toyota of Japan. Right now styling is being debated (so far the MKV Supra would look like the Chevy SuperSport concept only in 2 door form and have a 7G Celica like front.) From what we have found we believe Toyota will announce its new Supra in new next Tokyo Motor Show. Recently, we found that the engine being debated is a 3.5 Litre Aluminum head, Aluminum Block V-6 engine rated around 300HP routed to a 6 Speed Transmission. We assume that this would be a direct competitor to the 350Z. We also assume that a turbo version may come out in future years because of Nissans "not very known" experimentation with a Supercharged G35. Complaints: The new engine is supposedly a V-6...thats going to screw the whole Supra Legacy up. Due to this..the geniuses at Toyota are debating if they will call this car the Toyota Supra after all. Design cues are calling for "retro" trying to mimic the Nissan 350Z's plan. They have called in stylist to analyze the old 2000GT design and have probobly decided to integrate a "2 circle, 2 circle" rear tailights unlike the "4 circlie, 4 circle" design incorporated in the MKIV Toyota Supra. Price: They are currently debating but right now 30K is floating. Currently Toyota has announced that they may completly remove the 2JZ-GE and stop the Inline-6 engine. An informant within Toyota (hah..you knew it was gonna leak) has notified several magazines such as Automobile...it may have a small article in there in future issues. Welcome back Supra.... ::tears:: -Nate |

IMO no "new" supra will ever look as good as the 1993.5-1998 models if they are gonna bring them back i wish they would stick to that body style

2004 Toyota Supra
Rumors are now begining to swirl madly about a 2004 (actual late-2003 release) model year Supra. Preliminary specs include either a 3.5L V-6 with 325HP in the high trim, and a 2.5 L V-6 in the lower trim. This is well overdue as the Supra is no longer for sale in Japan, and an large number of competitors have popped up in the last few years (350Z, redesigned Skyline, Facelifted NSX, etc.) News of a 2004MY Supra release also "suspiciously" appeared in both "Automobile" magazine and "Road and Track" July/August '02 issues. All sources seem to show the 2004 Supra coming with a 4.5L V-8 in the upper trim and the 3.5L V-6 in the base trim, though a V10 is also rumored. Expect the Supra to arrive as a direct competitor to the 350Z. If It ever makes it to production it will likely be based on the Altezza/IS300 platform. Pricing and power should be very similar so it should hopefully be a little more affordable than the past Supra. |

Celica208 although I applaud your effort..most of that is outdated. The Supra team started planning the next Supra after the end of the model year in Japan of 2002. It will NOT be on the Altezza platform. It will NOT have a V-10 (such as the one from the Century or the F1..i wish lol) 2.5 Litre V-6? My 5S-FE is almost as big as that LoL. Ive seen the article by road and track and its nothing but a bunch of garbage. The article from Automobile is the closest you could get. (they pondered the 3.5 Litre V-6)
Quote: Pricing and power should be very similar so it should hopefully be a little more affordable than the past Supra. It WILL be more affordable according to my source...around the pricing of the 350Z. -Nate |

Oh yea I looked at the toyota celica online rumors. Those pics were conjured up by BEST CAR and such. The yellow one is not likely..the white one on top is definately not it. And the middle one....well lets say the body lines look a BIT like the MKV Supra. That article is outdated.

Okay, I can see a trend with cars these days and its going towards the boxy look, need examples compare how elongated the supra and celica look compared to todays sports cars. I'll bet money on it that the new supra is gonna be more boxier just like all the other cars coming out.

i dont think theres such a thing as an "accidental" leakage of information. i think they purposefully made it look like an insider spilled some info bout the concept cars so that it would catch more peoples attention.

NOOBONE - That "future" celica and supra is outdated. Those two pictures were from a very old issue of Motor Trend Magazine. Also that MKIII Supra is has the "KAZE" body kit which can be purchased through www.takakaira.com.
-Nate btw..I have that issue of motor trend =P |

OH yea NOOBONE - The Celica was created from merging a 7G Celica with a Ferrari 360. The bottom Toyota SUpra was made from combining a MKIV Supra with a 60's 2000GT. They were both computer rendered by BEST CAR.

yea ive basically heard it all before but its good to get another conformation of it. and yea that top orange car has nothing to do with the celica/supra series at all. it was a JDM only concept they designed and MAY produce to compete with the S2000 over in japan. no plans to ever release it in the US.

Drunken: I doubt that's what the final appearance will be. If you noticed that paragraph of text underneath it, or even read it, you might have seen it say "rendering of what it might look like."
