scary sound .... Options

ok some i'm on another site checking out the fourms and they had a topic why people hate on srt-4's ... so as alot of you know i'm at work and i think alot sitting here thinking about nothing ....

so i started thinking about last years LSP meet... and on the drive back from W.C. this srt-4 drive passed us and revs his motor... and slows down ... i pull up next to him... with my fellow celican right behind me 6 cars deep .. and i rev my engine looking at this kid and shake may head no... he head the sound or my engine (all i have is a short ram) i guess the sound he head scared him.. cause he just got this look on his face like he wanted know part of my 5s... then he slowed down as we all passed him...

just wanted to share that with you guys .. i'm boared at work ..

I think the 5sfe is a really mean sounding engine. Bigger bark than bight, but still nice bark. I see those srt-4 guys around here all the time. They seem to just get on those cars more than anyone else. I know there's a lot of fast cars around here, but I hardly ever see the srt-4 Neon not going faster than normal. Those things aren't haff bad. But they're not bad cars. I wouldn't mind one. I don't have the money to fix it all the time though. I also like RWD, and 2 door. Those things don't do to bad in the stock autox class.

haha....srt-4s will hand our ass*s to us anyday, he probably shakes his head not wanting to race because he doesn't want to waste gas, lol, but seriously, fast cars usually dont race slow cars like ours, they dont want to waste time, my nephew has an EVO 8, people rev at him but he doesn't bother becus he knows he'll smoke them, usually he only races when he hears a s/c or turbo, or fast cars like the STI, a camero z28, Mustang GT, etc...the guy in the SRT-4 probably didn't hear any s/c whine or blow off valve on your celica, thats why he didn't want to race your slow 5sfe with an intake (no offence but its the truth) those srt-4s are high 13s low 14s, a good driver will run right behind a stock evo or sti on the highway, but the srt-4 will get owned from a stop

to the above ^^ jeff would have handed one guys srt4 his ass to himself if they kept going, they loose so much on top end, and there the next honda civic only faster so i guess we jus gotta get used to them.

people think i have an exhaust leak or its cracked.. my engine with just my injen *BIG PROPS TO MANNY* makes people wonder what im rocking when theres no exhaust out the back haha

^who is jeff? i was referring to macavely's 5s with only an intake < srt4, im pretty sure jeff has more than just a 5s with an intake, the srt4s are nice little cars though

the srt4 is a pain in the a$$ to maintain (i know cuz i help my srt4 friend out everytime his car craps out) but they are quick. nothing a 3sgte celi couldnt outrun tho

But yeah those are some fast cars man. If he would have just tapped the pedal he would have destroyed a 5sfe. That guy was probably shaking his head in disbelief, wondering why a stock celi would even rev.

In other words, he didnt want to make you look bad in front of your friends.

mmmm...yea, I have a Cobalt SS, and srt-4's always wanna play, but I wouldn't wanna get the rims dirty after slowing down from a quick 120mph...lol, its really hard to keep black clean!

i raced an srt4 once and beat him, but he definetly gave me a good run.

i have total respect for those cars. even tho its a neon, other car companies should take an example of what dodge did and produce similar cars. they are very cheap, and very easy to modify. most of the guys on their forums have at least 350hp with simple turbo, fuel, exhaust ,ecu upgrades.

as far as exhaust sounds go, the stock srt4 exhaust is one of the best sounding exhausts to ever come on a factory 4cly car. it has no mufflers just a cat and a resonator and sounds amazing.

yeah, srt's sound cool. I dont wanna change the exaust on the SS because I prefer hearing the S/C.

ok well i love em in white, but i hate em.. every owner acts like its the fastest thing in the world.. seriously ive met like 12 owners and they all talked the most **** i have ever heard.. i find it so annoyingand there acting like its a honda.. thats why i say its the next civic.. i hate em idc if therer fast and i kno they would kill me in a race but so far every owner i met was a complete d*ck

i agree, every srt4 driver ive seen are cocky as hell. sure i know its fast, but like you said, i dont care, id rather have my celica.

They are cocky for a reason. Those things are fast. If you had a 3sgte swapped Celica, wouldn't you be a little cocky? I'm looking at you on this one Lagos. There's always a 3sgte guy that posts about how he beat this, and beat that. And it's true, they do beat things. But like Lagos said, the srt-4 gave him a good run for his money. If it will run like that, they are just plain fast. 350hp is something not even seen on this site more than a couple times. And if it really is all over thier forums, that's really saying something.

i kno that but the fact is they buy a car stock.. and then act like its the biggest fu**ing thing in the world.. if u SWAP a 3sgte u can be like wow i made my car this fast, but when u buy it stock and just cause its fast doesnt mean ur soo cool, and freaking its always the scumbags no offence if some of your friends own an srt-4 but around me there all like white trash people who took out a loan and think there the coolest thing on the planet.. an sti or an evo is quite fast, and there quite expensive, but you notice not to many people who drive them are assholes.. same thing with a civic.. just cause u have an aluminum wing and a fake CF exhaust doesnt make it the fastest thing, its always the cheap cars who are somehow assholes in my opinion
