u know how the st (7afe) has the rpms at like 3.5k-4k in 5th gear cruising at 80mph? well how are the rpms in a 3s swapped car while cruising at 80? hopefully not at 3.5-4k like in the gt and st right?

isn't this tranny related and not dependant on the engine?

i think thats the same with the tranny that comes in the st...so then does the top speed not increase with the swap by much?

I've had mine up to 115 before and I could have kept going easy. I don't think I was above 5500k rpms.

If i am not mistaken, my GT tranny (3sgte swap) is around 3k at 65mph give or take a couple hundred.

Exactly. It depends on the 5th gear ratio, final drive and tire size. A Camry E153 will have nice long ratios for cruising, and an MR2 non-turbo or Celica GT transmission will have pretty short ratios for good accelleration.

You will just have to find the ratios for your particular transmission to figure out the RPM at a given speed.

go here, left is S54 right is E153.
then play with the Rev limit and it graphs everything and gives you detailed info on top speed in each gear.
im surprised at how 1st-3rd are almost identical.
