You know what struck me about this Superbowl compared to others?
It was the only one I can remember where the losing team clearly played better all game - except for the breaks and the big plays. I predicted the steelers but having watched the game I think the Seahawks could take them 8/10 times. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

if it's not a super bowl, and ben doesn't choke...i think they could stilltake em...
Ben's #'s were pretty crappy. Steelers almost lost IMO due to Coaching + Ben. Hasselbeck did have a great game...completely picking out the zone def. This post has been edited by Consynx: Feb 6, 2006 - 4:18 PM -------------------- |

ya know what sucks? that in 13 years when they show highlights and scores from past super bowls u will only see 21-10 Steelers win! you wont know the truth behind the game and how its shady!
yeah they won and seahawks didnt really play that great but there were some crappy calls that no one can deny! -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

while some reffing may be bad, you can not blame a whole game on bad calls. They let Parker run 75yards. . . he's only had2 maybe 3 big breaks all season, and the biggest before this was like 30yards.
for calls: A perfect example would be the Colts/Steelers game w/ the interception call, among a couple other iffy calls against the steelers. -------------------- |

wow, that article basically sums up what I was gonna say...
-the push-off call on Seattle on their first touchdown that was called back was BS -Big Ben's touchdown that wasn't a touchdown... if you watch closely, you can see a Seahawk's player's arm come in and punch the ball out of Ben's arm too, before he picks it up and places it over the line... -and that holding call the article mentions, not as important as the others, but also a drive-killer. I was rooting for Seattle and they should have won. The media built the game all up for Bettis to win in his last season. It was set up. |

anything is a push-off basically
Seattle just was unlucky because they chose to do it 2ft in front of the ref. it happens in almost every play, but the refs can't see it as well so they don't call it. if there's arm contact and the players are suddenly a couple ft apart, they're going to call push off. as far as the game being set-up...lol talk to John about that. take a lesson from the seahawks and quit bitching about the refing, not once was it a complaint of a single player or coach after the game was over, they all admitted to their own inadequacy within the game, they had every opportunity to win, they didnt, quit complaining.

I think the NFL needs to take its officials jobs more seriously!
Umpries in the MLB need to go to college and sometimes still dont even make it to the big leagues to be an umpire. Maybe its about time the NFL start taking some notes from the MLB. but with bad reffing aside - im excited for next year and cant wait to go to the Steelers game against the hawks! :-) -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

you know most of the officials in the NFL are lawyers, accountants, etc, right? they are very intelligent people. why don't you all get your happy asses out there and do it? i have 20 that says all you would fxck up more calls than even the worst NFL official. the refs didn't win the game for the steelers, the steelers did. when the score is 21-10, you can't blame that on bad calls. especially when seattle didn't do anything when they had the ball, and the steelers didn't have a first down until the 2nd quarter. the seahawks had many chances, they just didn't capitolize. the steelers had less chances, but they did. there's the difference. i'm sure everyone is sorry that your team didn't win. now get over it. it's almost wednesday people. .
