I googled it too. You are no expert. Doesn't matter if I can't spell, I still know what I'm talking about. When are people going to realise that?

QUOTE(toyo94 @ Feb 6, 2006 - 11:27 PM) haha...yea i thought so...that a st motor is the same as those geo prizems...but hey i've been taking out civic coupe dx's you can say basic and many others, when all i got is just a short ram custom intake...pretty kool huh...but than my car is eating up too much gas...and the gas prices is really getting on my last nerves...well to stay on topic yeap it is the same motor...and when first i found out, i was sort of shocked and wanted a gt but hey a st will do for now... DX's are like crap compared to our ST. It doesn't take any effort to beat an DX with out ST models. |

QUOTE(1900WattCelica @ Feb 8, 2006 - 3:09 PM) There is no such thing as a GSi prizm. There is a Geo Prizm base model and a LSi model. I believe either trim level could come with the 1.6L 4a-fe or the 2nd gen Prizm (93-97) could be ordered with a 1.8L 7a-fe (6th gen celica ST). Sorry but BS. My friends Geo Prizm has a 4A-GE. I know because I've worked on it and helped him mod it. I believe it's a '90 or so and it does have some cute little name like GSI or something. I could find out if anybody really cares that much. The car is actually kind of quick for a old school 4-door. -------------------- |

i have the corolla with the 7afe, the corolla is lighter than the celica, soulshadow, its a driver's race between the two cars if both the 7afe are stock, actually the 93 and 94 corollas' horsepower are closer to the ST, but after 94, hp in the corolla 7afe dropped to 105, i have the 94 rated @ 115 hp, if anyone have a near stock 7afe celica around the Wisconsin and Minnesota area and want to run my nearly stock 7afe corolla, then give me a hollar, i'd like to see the results.
Yesh! the geo prizm GSI came with the 4age in the USA, i'm no geo expert, but last i heard, those only came around 1990-92, maybe only 1990-1991, i'm not sure, but the prizm gsi with the 4age is rare, as rare as an ae86 Corolla GTS in Wisconsin, and its PRIZM, not prizum...or however u guys spelt it This post has been edited by pure_dx: May 3, 2007 - 11:17 PM |

Whoops. Ok when you said GSi I was thinking you were confusing Storms with Prizm trim levels. I found a GSi on autotrader and it was rated at 130 hp so thats definitely no 4a-fe. The 1st gen 90-92 Prizms were base, LSi and GSi. Base and LSi got the 4a-fe and the GSi got the 4a-ge.
The 2nd gen Prizms (93-97) are either base or LSi with either a 4a-fe or 7a-fe as the performance upgrade. If anyone is seriously considering getting a Prizm I suggest getting a 2nd gen. The interior, comfort and ride is much nicer IMO after owning both generations of the Prizm. I will edit my information. |

QUOTE(1900WattCelica @ Feb 9, 2006 - 8:27 AM) Whoops. Ok when you said GSi I was thinking you were confusing Storms with Prizm trim levels. I actually had a Storm GSi. That's how I noticed the Prizm GSi. I use to really be into the Geo's. My Storm would kick the crap out of my Celica. Sadly, it's gone. Storms came with a SOHC 1.6 something or other, and a DOHC 1.8 Isuzu motor. That Isuzu motor was also in the Lotus something, of that eara. Fast little car, and responded pretty well to the things I did to it. This post has been edited by Bigmeanbulldog55: Feb 9, 2006 - 9:34 AM -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy
