wow, you dont spend $20 on jeans?? think of clothes as an invesment. Think of how many days you are going to wear an item, and divide the price by that. Also, take into account the fact that there is an actual psycological link between looking good, feeling good, and having more energy to do things during the day. The price for nice clothes and acessories arent all that much considering.
This is a PERFECT site for my gf. She loves purses and has tons of them, but then ends up only carrying one for a long while. When she tries to use another bag, she ends up chickening out and goes back to her staple one. Ill definatly forward this linkt o her -------------------- Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it... |

lol yeah i know all about the first imprestion, working in my position my impretion is a huge reflection of thw work I do, and how people treat me, but i mean come on. I dont like spending money on clothes but i do when i have to, (work etc.) I can get a great pair of jeans from costco for like $17. or pay $50 for the same thing with a diff logo. same with shirts or anything, all your buying is a brand name, there all maid in the same shop in china, or by the same robotic sewing machine.

Yes, it is true that the same sewing machines are used for all the different shirts, but what gauge thread is running through those machines when its making a $15 shirt and when its making a $100 shirt? Whats the quality and material of that thread? What kind of stitch are they using? are they making a slow pass for good double stitch, or a quick run to just get it sewn? What kind of fabric is being used? Is it a natural fiber, or a blend? If its a natural fiber, what quality is it? whats its thread count? its material weight? if the shirt is colored, what kind of dye was used? a natural dye or artificial dye? what is the hue of the color? Will that hue of red make you look like a reject from the 70s or the in the latest trend? What about the fit? do you think the designer of a lesser shirt give concern to how it falls on the person in lue of the current style? or did they just cut it from a standard shirt pattern made in 1980? And do they scale the small, medium, and large sizes appropriately so that the garment wears on the average wearer of each size correctly, or did they just scale it by the numbers? Brand means a lot more than you think. Its more than just a name. Its the way it is cut, its is sewn, it is made, and the way it is worn. Yes, there are some items that are just a brand name on a generic piece. But for the most part, you are buying a designers style and choice in fabric and quality. Knowing what to get cheap and what to get quality is where judgement comes in. At most I will buy a shirt for 25 bucks, but nothing more. The jeans I am wearing are 70 dollar jeans, but got them for 30. Normally I wouldn't have done that, but since it was like...70% or so off I bought them. I like wearing $13-$14 shirts. I'm not out to impress everyone who walks by, I am wearing what I like and not what is necessarily in style. I like to be comfortable. If I wanted/needed to impress someone I would wear the one pair of slacks I own, a dress shirt, and borrow my dad's or brother's dress shoes. I totally see where creis is coming from. I don't care what the thread count is. I don't care what dye was used. I don't care about the stiching. This is why I have about fifteen $13 shirts, so if one gets destroyed then it doesn't bother me. Now, if your $75-$100 shirt gets stained or something, you're probably going to throw a fit, hence not buying one to begin with.

I wonder if purses make a girl feel noticed, I couldnt careless on what color type of purse she had. So ladies, if its to impress the guys, its not working... actually, if i see a girl with a nice purse I usaully stay away from them cuz there 2 materialistic and always want name brand things. oh and on a note for the guy above me, ties rock. I started wearing one last week and I get so much more attention now. I came into work and everyone was like OH SH!T LOOK AT THAT BOY, it was pretty cool.

u didnt' wear a tie to your own wedding???
Haha i agree with all sides, but when it comes to clothes some things you can't skimp on. Jeans every pair has a different cut so it does matter, If i could find a 20 dollor pair with same cut and quality as a 70 dollor pair i'd be all over it. These days u can find a 200 dollor pair for 70 and a 70 dollor pair for 30 so i just say go find the best deal and get what ever u like. -------------------- All I have in this world is my Balls and my Word and I'm not breaking em for no one,- Tony Montana Team 6gc 2005 |
