how did you do that? you can't possibly shave the head and deck that low and i know you can't use any adjustable cam gears for our ST motors, can you?

Heh...how the f*** did you manage that... custom ****s? Too much work and too expensive for me... As far as nitrious goes, NOS isn't an abbreviated term for anything but NOS (the company that sells nitrious systems). The correct abbreviation as mentioned is No2, 1 part nitrogen and 2 parts oxygen... or some shiat like that. The 7afe can easily handle a 50 shot... Just remember, when you spray... be responsible. |

I got that impression also... I think he doesn't know what he's talking about... but if he/you do/does have a 14:1 comp ratio... then...well... musta punched the pocketbook pretty hard. I mean...damn... costs more than a swap or a custom turbo to do head work and block work like that... especially on the 7afe. The 7afe and the 5sfe both only have a single cam sprocket (although they are dual overhead cams). It's part of the "fe" head designation. Narrow head design, better economy, poorer performance, blah blah blah... so in other words, no cam gear"s"... ;] |

ok, just to explain:
I've done the work myself with a friend of mine who is a mechanic. you can lower the head of 6/10 of millimeter without having valves touching th pistons. I paied nothing to do the job to the head, including P&P. In Italy we have 98 octane fuel at pump stations and I use it and have no pre-ignition problems. In a few days Iìm going to a MSD ignition and Denso iridium plugs to manage it better. x Kwanza: you can have adj sprockets, OBX make it but is hard to have....anyway you can have one custom made....a friend of mine got it for just 50 bucks...the use your original external part of the gear, where the timing belt is on and rebuil with ergal parts the gear interior to make it adjustable. Interesting...when I had my headwork done, it costed over 800 dollars, just for a complete port/polish, valve retainers, springs, etc... Mentioning high compression, I would figure to push a 14:1, you'd have to use high comp pistons. There are high compression pistons for the 4age, and they do fit in the 7afe block, but the rods are .2 stroke shorter... so custom rods will have to be made, installed, and balanced. That kind of custom work for an all motor set-up is highly expensive. As far as there being an adjustable cam sprocket, sure...why not... I was mostly nagging about everyone calling them cam "gears" when there's only a single cam sprocket... As far as OBX goes, they make a lot of claims about products they "supposedly" have, but try calling them up, and they'll always tell you, "it's in production..."
