This is just for my own personal information. My girlfriend really hates systems. Her and I both live in trailer parks right now, due to college and all. And there are people who drive through her's late at night with it cranked. It didn't use to be so bad in mine, untill the new neibors this year. The other night they were reving their motor up at 1:30 in the morning. As far as I can tell, they have strate pipe. They sat and reved for about 15 min off and on. And I drive around and am forced to lisson to others music around this town. What happend to noise polution? Who's rights are being violated? My right to peaceful existance, or who evers right to lisson to music as loud as they want whenever they want. I think my opinioin is clear. I do have strate pipe on my car, but it's okay as long as I'm real easy on the car or have the baffle in.

Im very nice when it comes to my system.
i don't turn it up loud unless im on the main strip here in town, and even then its not real loud. if im cruising around i have it up to where the car next to me can hear it. i don't play the crap that has alot of swear words in it. i do swear, but id rather not have a younger kid hear it from me or my truck. i don't "bump" after dark. if im in a residential area, i keep it turned down. i use to live in town and know what its like. people behind us had a goat that would NOT shut up at night. lol if it gets too bad, just call the police and report it. -------------------- Jared Harwell

i have spent alot of money on my current set up. it is really loud but clearity is what is most important. When i come into a residential area i turn it down or when it gets past 11. also when i come to a stop light i turn it down, i know others dont share the same tastes i have.

why are all the questions in the first poll negative? What if i just want to get the most outa music and enjoy the added subs?
But i know what you mean. I use to live in downtown austin, close to alot of the housing for college kids...so at like 11 or 12 (when i was like 10) was pretty late, and they would like have contests to see who could be louder... Now where i live its not so bad. The people here are all pretty respectful. I think its about where you live. I really dont care for the first poll because I have a system and am not rude. & the only time you'll hear my system outside the car is at competitions or car shows.
I like systems, i'm out of the SPL stage though....so right now i'm fixing to redo my setup to two 12" Kicker CompVRs and a SX900.2. I used to have two 10" SL7s w/ two KX600.1 running on 2ohms. Got really loud but still had clean bass. |

I love having a system, but I do respect people in neighborhoods.

QUOTE(JFrost9 @ Feb 10, 2006 - 3:20 PM) why are all the questions in the first poll negative? What if i just want to get the most outa music and enjoy the added subs? Exactly...I have a 10" sub running off 150 watts and a fully-sound-deadened car so you can barely even hear the sub outside even if it is cranked. But I almost always have the bass way down, just to add that low end that I need to have my music sound good(to myself and my passengers.) People who blast their systems in Yakima usually end up having their systems jacked, at least from my friends' experiences. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

When I say system, I don't mean something little. Sounds like what you have Coomer is a little 150w and a 10. That's not big. When I think system, I think loud systems that are for the purpose of being loud, not good sound. I like good speakers, and I can appreciate a good sound. It's when people get them for the purpose of being loud and making everyone else lisson to their music that I get irritated. I should have clarified that from the get go. I ment to put a positive thing in the first pole, but I missed it. Can I add it now? I think that would mess up results. It's just a dumb internet pole, doesn't matter. EDIT: Can't add to the pole now. I wanted to add a "They're okay." I had it in there, but I took it out when I put them in order. My celi is stock but my truck has Rockford 10 boxes, pyle tweeters, jlaudio 4"mids up front,
Soundstream pullout deck/preamp (kinda oldschool but nice sound), input rca to head phone for mp3 or portable CD, and a 300 watt rockford amp. I only play it loud on the highway, or when camping, partys, stuff like that. I can pull the boxes out and put them on the roof. It is pefect for a guitar with a rockman, you have a totally mobile soundstage. Oh yeah, I don't camp or party where I would disturb anyone. EDIT: my celis stock system is louder outsi the car than my truck. Must dirt sound proofing or something. in my opinion some people are really obnoxious with their audio systems. all i is an alpine head unit and alpine speakers. im not even sure if i want a sub, if so, just a single 10. i dont need people to here my music 3 blocks away, its ridiculous.

I'd like to know who the people are that think it's cool when they crank it at 2am, and don't care when other people sleep. Who actually thinks that?

This poll is so skewed. I have 2 12''s in my truck and 1 12'' in the celi and i dont go around blasting it at 2am.

Who actually thinks that? Highschool guys.... being a highschooler, i can tell you that these guys put off balanced systems in cheap cars, and they do get stolen alot. Im planning on putting in a 15" with around 700 RMS... I love the way the bass feels, but when i had my truck, id always turn it down at lights and in parking lots and residential roads...But its fun to crank it like on the highway or downtown. -------------------- I am now a part of the ihavemorethen16gc club! |

I agree, I have a JL 12" w6v2 with 600 watts to it that can be fairly loud and components but my system is completely built for clarity and I never blast it at night or anywhere or anytime it will annoy people. I mean I turn it down at stoplights so I don’t bother people next to me. Some people just like feeling a thump or like the clarity sorry if one jackass blasts it but don't take it out on all of us.

Eh i dont care to much for the options, I have a system that can bump very hard, and I do sometimes crank it but when i get to a stop light i drop the volume enough os they cant hear it, or if its late at night in a residention area i dont bump it hard, a big system in a car I think it really cool, sounds really cool and does not mean that the driver is an incosiderate person.
